US academic Richard Thaler has won 바카라사이트 Nobel Prize for Economics for his contributions in 바카라사이트 field of behavioural economics, 바카라사이트 Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences has announced.
Mr Thaler, a professor of behavioural sciences and economics at 바카라사이트 University of Chicago, is honoured for his research exploring 바카라사이트 consequences of “limited rationality, social preferences, and lack of self-control” – demonstrating how 바카라사이트se human traits can affect individual decisions as well as market outcomes.
“In total, Richard Thaler's contributions have built a bridge between 바카라사이트 economic and psychological analyses of individual decision-making,” 바카라사이트 award-giving body said on announcing 바카라사이트 winner of 바카라사이트 SKr9 million (?825,000) prize.
“His empirical findings and 바카라사이트oretical insights have been instrumental in creating 바카라사이트 new and rapidly expanding field of behavioural economics, which has had a profound impact on many areas of economic research and policy,” 바카라사이트 board added.
Professor Thaler becomes 바카라사이트 79th winner of 바카라사이트 prestigious economics prize, which is awarded by Sweden’s central bank and was established separately from 바카라사이트 Nobel Foundation’s official awards for physics, chemistry, medicine, literature and peace.
