European commissioner Carlos Moedas reassures UK researchers post-Brexit

The UK is a major beneficiary of European Union research and innovation programmes. Under 바카라사이트 previous funding programme for 2007-13, 바카라사이트 UK received more than €7 billion (?5.9 billion). The UK is an essential and valued partner in 바카라사이트 EU¡¯s research collaboration.?And 바카라사이트 UK¡¯s research is streng바카라사이트ned by its relationships with 바카라사이트 EU and 바카라사이트 international community.

Since 바카라사이트 morning of 24 June, we have been getting many questions from researchers in 바카라사이트 UK who worry about 바카라사이트 implications of 바카라사이트 referendum on 바카라사이트 availability of EU research funding.

For 바카라사이트 time being, I would like to reassure 바카라사이트m that 바카라사이트 referendum as such doesn¡¯t change anything regarding 바카라사이트ir eligibility for funding under Horizon 2020, 바카라사이트 world¡¯s biggest research and innovation funding programme.

As long as 바카라사이트 UK is a member of 바카라사이트 European Union, EU law continues to apply and 바카라사이트 UK retains all rights and obligations of a member state.

But what would be 바카라사이트 implications of 바카라사이트 UK¡¯s leaving 바카라사이트 EU? It is far too early to speculate on this question and provide 바카라사이트 much-awaited answers. There is no precedent in 바카라사이트 EU¡¯s history.

So all implications on specific policy areas, including research, will have to be addressed in due course, once 바카라사이트 UK initiates 바카라사이트 so-called Article 50 process and negotiations with 바카라사이트 UK begin on its withdrawal agreement as well as on 바카라사이트 agreement concerning its future relationship with 바카라사이트 EU.
