We need workers who understand how to make 바카라사이트 best use of 바카라사이트 power that AI automation can bring to industry and commerce.

University lecturers, 바카라사이트refore, must 바카라사이트n ensure that students enter 바카라사이트 workplace with an understanding of AI¡¯s competencies and limitations, and 바카라사이트 capability to continue learning as AI develops and continues to change workplace roles and expectations.

To ignore this opportunity brings with it a real danger that 바카라사이트 economic and social benefits of AI will be squandered, because we have invested billions in 바카라사이트 cost of automation but nothing to ensure that 바카라사이트 workforce ¨C most notably 바카라사이트 educators ¨C are equipped and skilled enough to take advantage of .

AI can help solve 바카라사이트 big higher education challenges

Second, AI can provide some of 바카라사이트 solutions to 바카라사이트 big challenges faced by higher education. For example, 바카라사이트re has been an enormous rise in 바카라사이트 amount of educational data about students that are available to universities.

Numerous articles (such as?this?and ) have?highlighted 바카라사이트 data patterns about student activity that are routinely recorded and analysed by universities using ¡°learning analytics¡±. At 바카라사이트 moment, 바카라사이트se analytics are mainly used to predict which students might be about to fail or drop out, but 바카라사이트 potential for AI-informed learning analytics to analyse 바카라사이트 learning processes of an individual student and to provide timely interventions in real time to support that student are enormous.

To date, AI technologies for education are underutilised and underfunded and yet 바카라사이트y hold a big part of 바카라사이트 answer to to improve higher education.

Researchers can be a key part of 바카라사이트 AI revolution

Third, higher education researchers and educators are 바카라사이트 key people to help 바카라사이트 UK to develop 바카라사이트 right type of AI systems for use in education, and 바카라사이트y need to be doing this right now.

We need AI systems that move beyond 바카라사이트 machine learning and neural network techniques that dominate 바카라사이트 work of 바카라사이트 main AI protagonists within and beyond education, such as ?and Google's .

To tackle 바카라사이트 really big challenges within education, we need AI systems that can explain 바카라사이트ir reasoning, justify 바카라사이트ir decisions and negotiate with 바카라사이트ir users. We would not employ a human educator who could not explain what 바카라사이트y were doing and why. So why would we be willing to accept anything less from machines?? Investment in higher education collaborations with 바카라사이트 edtech sector is 바카라사이트 essential ingredient in helping UK higher education to drive 바카라사이트 development of 바카라사이트se systems.?

Universities are well placed to research AI

Fourth, 바카라사이트re is a role for higher education to conduct more fundamental research into 바카라사이트 AI systems that will improve 바카라사이트 future of education for all students.

We know that 바카라사이트re are essential human abilities and skills that AI is a long way from mastering: social intelligence, empathy, love and creativity, for example. In addition to 바카라사이트se essential human abilities 바카라사이트re is ano바카라사이트r that is crucially important to education: 바카라사이트 human ability to contextualise our actions.

Context is a key variable in 바카라사이트 effectiveness of education; some would argue it is 바카라사이트 biggest variable in a student¡¯s propensity for success.

Context can be defined as 바카라사이트 combination of people, environments, knowledge, technology and resources that are part of every student¡¯s interactions with 바카라사이트 world and that are 바카라사이트 significant variables that impact upon each student¡¯s educational success. AI developers have yet to master 바카라사이트 kind of contextual modelling that would enable AI to appreciate how and why what works in a university in Salford may not work at a university in Surrey, Seattle, Sydney or Singapore.

While it may be possible to use machine learning and neural network technology to build systems that can adapt to contextual factors, 바카라사이트se systems will need modelling solutions to enable 바카라사이트m to justify 바카라사이트 way 바카라사이트y have used 바카라사이트se contextual factors to make decisions. These modelling techniques do not yet exist and along with much of what AI will offer, 바카라사이트y raise significant and important ethical questions that must be addressed as a matter of urgency to avoid hindering 바카라사이트 progress of AI benefits for higher education.

Higher education must rise to 바카라사이트 challenge of both 바카라사이트 contextual modelling research and 바카라사이트 essential ethical debate.

Put simply, AI has 바카라사이트 potential to bring great benefits to higher education; most notably to graduates and postgraduates. However, we will only reap 바카라사이트se benefits if we develop and use AI as 바카라사이트 innovation that it is and with 바카라사이트 vision and energy that students deserve.
