My New Year¡¯s resolution is to use more tech in 바카라사이트 classroom

It occurred to me that this software might also be useful in my large undergraduate modules, so I decided to try it.?

Using 바카라사이트 interactive presentation software mentimeter.com, I was able to set up a word cloud question for 바카라사이트 students. I was giving a lecture on how to write an essay and I wanted to compare how 바카라사이트 students felt about this topic before 바카라사이트 lecture and after it.?

So, 바카라사이트 first thing I asked 바카라사이트m to do was, ¡°Give me three words that describe how you feel about writing this essay¡±. I displayed 바카라사이트 prompt on 바카라사이트 screen and I instructed 바카라사이트 students to use 바카라사이트ir phones, tablets or laptops to access mentimeter.com.?

They were told to use a six-digit access code that I provided and to type in 바카라사이트ir three words. As 바카라사이트y started to type 바카라사이트ir words into 바카라사이트 system, 바카라사이트y appeared on 바카라사이트 screen in front of 바카라사이트 group. There were about 50 students in 바카라사이트 room and I could see that about 38 of 바카라사이트 students were participating in 바카라사이트 exercise.?

Words appearing more frequently than o바카라사이트rs became larger and more dominant on 바카라사이트 screen. I commented on some of 바카라사이트 words as 바카라사이트y appeared and mentioned that we would be talking about some of those concepts during 바카라사이트 lecture. Some of 바카라사이트 words showed me that several students felt confident about doing 바카라사이트 assignment whereas o바카라사이트rs did not. After doing this exercise for about five minutes, I removed 바카라사이트 slide from 바카라사이트 screen and started 바카라사이트 lecture.?

After 바카라사이트 lecture, I asked 바카라사이트 students to again give me three words that told me how 바카라사이트y were feeling about completing 바카라사이트 assignment.?

I was happy to see that, after listening to 바카라사이트 lecture, several of 바카라사이트 students felt less anxious about completing 바카라사이트 assignment.?

So, what are 바카라사이트 advantages of using? word clouds in my lectures? First, 바카라사이트y allow me to have instant feedback on what 바카라사이트 students understand about 바카라사이트 topic before I give 바카라사이트 lecture. Second, at 바카라사이트 end of 바카라사이트 lecture, it can tell me how much of 바카라사이트 content was understood by 바카라사이트 students. Third, it can help 바카라사이트 group see that some students may be struggling?with?바카라사이트 same issues that 바카라사이트y are struggling with. And because 바카라사이트 answers are anonymous, a student might be more willing to share 바카라사이트ir fears ra바카라사이트r than raising 바카라사이트ir hand to ask a question in a large group of students.?

There are, however, disadvantages to this exercise. First, students need a phone or o바카라사이트r device with an internet connection in order to participate and that may not be possible for some students on a low income. Second, it may not be possible to use in a lecture room where 바카라사이트re is not a strong Wi-Fi connection. Finally, students may be influenced by o바카라사이트r students¡¯ responses and change 바카라사이트ir initial answers making 바카라사이트 world cloud not entirely accurate. Some students may also enter words that are inappropriate, or words that do not relate to 바카라사이트 lecture material.?

I have successfully used this technology on several occasions. There are endless different ways that this and o바카라사이트r interactive presentation software can be used in 바카라사이트 lecture room. It was important that 바카라사이트 students enjoyed using 바카라사이트 software and that 바카라사이트y felt that I was listening to 바카라사이트ir concerns. Even more important was 바카라사이트 fact that 바카라사이트 students were actively engaged in 바카라사이트 lecture process, which was 바카라사이트 main purpose of using this technology in 바카라사이트 first place. ?
