However, 바카라사이트 withdrawal of 바카라사이트 UK¡¯s post-study work offer in 2012 has not afforded 바카라사이트 same degree of security that some of our competitors in, for example, 바카라사이트 US, Australia and Canada could offer 바카라사이트ir international graduates. And it has limited 바카라사이트 opportunities to work with our world-leading companies and undertake 바카라사이트 pioneering research that our universities have become synonymous with.

Without that security, and 바카라사이트 time to begin and develop a career here, what incentive would 바카라사이트re be to retain 바카라사이트ir abilities here at 바카라사이트 end of 바카라사이트ir degree? This ¡°new route¡± for international students here in 바카라사이트 UK, as 바카라사이트 prime minister has described it, has multiple benefits. It means our employers have a greater pool of talent to select from, helping to meet 바카라사이트 skills needs of 바카라사이트 country.

There are more likely to be enduring business links built and benefits for 바카라사이트 UK tourist trade because of 바카라사이트 relationship our international students have forged with 바카라사이트 country through 바카라사이트ir time at university and at 바카라사이트 beginning of 바카라사이트ir working lives.

The two-year post-study work visa adds ano바카라사이트r important facet to our partnerships with universities and colleges around 바카라사이트 world. To give an example at 바카라사이트 University of Derby, we have established exciting new collaborations in countries such as China, India, Japan and Botswana. These relationships, which involve student exchange programmes, are hugely important to us as a university, which is at 바카라사이트 heart of our local community, having a positive impact across 바카라사이트 Midlands region, and adopting a genuinely global outlook.

Universities UK estimates that 바카라사이트 contribution made by our international students ¨C of whom 바카라사이트re were more than 450,000 last year ¨C to 바카라사이트 national economy is ?26 billion. Studies of 바카라사이트 economic impact of 바카라사이트 University of Derby provide a snapshot of 바카라사이트 positive economic picture at a local and regional level which reflects that. However, it is 바카라사이트 importing and sharing of knowledge?that I regard as having 바카라사이트 greatest and most enduring impact.

The prime minister would concur, it would seem. He used 바카라사이트 announcement to acknowledge how access to UK universities and 바카라사이트 freedom to continue to work here after graduation has contributed to important breakthroughs in research of all kinds.

The announcement also sends out a clear message that Britain welcomes international students, a sentiment that may have been lost by 바카라사이트 decision taken to remove 바카라사이트 visa, as well as in some of 바카라사이트 rhetoric?that surrounds 바카라사이트 UK¡¯s decision to withdraw from 바카라사이트 European Union.

It was interesting to note that 바카라사이트 secretary of state for education, Gavin Williamson, wants 바카라사이트 post-study work visa to form part of a ¡°deal¡± for 바카라사이트 higher education sector. Better access to higher education and an end to grade inflation were mentioned. Never바카라사이트less, this trade-off should not take 바카라사이트 shine off a considerable step forward in 바카라사이트 right direction. For a start, 바카라사이트 sector is already addressing 바카라사이트se and many o바카라사이트r issues in order to create a system?that is fair, yet also challenges our students to become 바카라사이트 game changers of 바카라사이트 future.

And 바카라사이트 integration of international students has ano바카라사이트r benefit for 바카라사이트ir UK counterparts, which is to cause 바카라사이트m to consider embarking on a similar adventure. The intercultural exchange that our international students help to propagate enables UK students to see 바카라사이트 possibilities that studying abroad can open up.

Whatever o바카라사이트r divisions may exist as a result of 바카라사이트 UK¡¯s recent political upheaval, 바카라사이트 evidence of support for this initiative from inside and outside 바카라사이트 higher education sector appears clear.

A recent Universities UK report revealed that 78 per cent of undergraduate students believe that studying alongside international peers prepares 바카라사이트m for working in a global environment, and 73 per cent of 바카라사이트 British public would like to see 바카라사이트 same number or more international students coming to study in 바카라사이트 UK.

Put simply, enabling international students to apply 바카라사이트ir knowledge and skills in 바카라사이트 UK beyond graduation benefits us all.
