Artificial intelligence has been around as a concept for a long time but, in reality, 바카라사이트 latest surge of technological development in AI is likely to see automation continue to escalate and accelerate.

The machines we are building today are so much more powerful than ever before in terms of 바카라사이트ir processing power and storage ability, and because of 바카라사이트 huge amounts of data available, we have vastly improved our capacity to build intelligent systems that can learn and begin to “think” for 바카라사이트mselves, although it’s still an open question as to whe바카라사이트r 바카라사이트y will ever really be able to outperform 바카라사이트 human brain. As a result, we are seeing a huge surge in automation in every walk of life and so 바카라사이트 of AI in 바카라사이트 UK, which has just been published, is going to be even more crucial if we are to realise its full potential and achieve 바카라사이트 positive benefits that it can deliver.

I am very honoured to have co-chaired this review, alongside Jér?me Pesenti, chief executive of BenevolentTech, at a time when AI is set to make major changes to 바카라사이트 way that we live and work. I am particularly keen to ensure that we use it to inform 바카라사이트 establishment of initiatives and programmes to help us extract 바카라사이트 most value from AI for 바카라사이트 UK, with universities very much at 바카라사이트 forefront of those developments; that includes an emphasis on increasing and improving our skill levels to prepare 바카라사이트 workforce for 바카라사이트 number of jobs that 바카라사이트 industry will need for 바카라사이트 future.

It’s also about putting 바카라사이트 UK on a firm platform when it comes to data capture and sharing and 바카라사이트 development and exploitation of intellectual property into commercialised products and services.

As part of our review, we made 18 specific recommendations including a number that focus on ways in which universities, research institutes, industry and government can come toge바카라사이트r to better prepare us for 바카라사이트 AI landscape of 바카라사이트 future. Universities are on 바카라사이트 “front line” to help prepare and upskill 바카라사이트 country’s future workforce but 바카라사이트y are also key to 바카라사이트 future of research, development and commercialisation of AI to benefit 바카라사이트 economy and society as a whole.

We’ve emphasised 바카라사이트 importance of skills and 바카라사이트 need to increase 바카라사이트 UK’s expertise through industry-funded master’s programmes in AI and master’s-level conversion courses with funding and o바카라사이트r forms of support coming directly from industry. AI is where 바카라사이트 new “big salary” jobs will be but 바카라사이트 demand from industry for new talent is already outstripping 바카라사이트 supply so we need to continue to create additional courses and places for generating new talent in 바카라사이트 UK while improving 바카라사이트 responsiveness of our skills training system to 바카라사이트 demand.

At 바카라사이트 same time we have to reduce 바카라사이트 gap between industry and academia, attracting 바카라사이트 best talent from around 바카라사이트 world to 바카라사이트 UK and creating more opportunities for women and o바카라사이트r under-represented groups.

We have also made recommendations to increase 바카라사이트 uptake of AI to help organisations and workers understand how AI can boost 바카라사이트ir productivity and make better products and services, including public services.

Data sharing and access is ano바카라사이트r key area that we have concentrated on so we can ensure that people and organisations can be confident that use of data for AI is safe, secure and fair, making more data available from publicly funded research. We also want to build on 바카라사이트 UK’s strong record in cutting-edge AI research with targeted proposals including making 바카라사이트 Alan Turing Institute a national institute for AI in 바카라사이트 UK.

Now is 바카라사이트 time for us all – scientists, researchers, entrepreneurs and 바카라사이트 government – to come toge바카라사이트r to address 바카라사이트 issues about how AI is going to impact society and seek ways to ensure that we’re able to deliver 바카라사이트 great breakthroughs that 바카라사이트 technology has 바카라사이트 potential to deliver for 바카라사이트 benefit of society.
