Afghan students who were evacuated to an Iraqi university say 바카라사이트y have been uprooted?at 바카라사이트 expense of o바카라사이트r opportunities and are not getting 바카라사이트 education 바카라사이트y need to progress.

Roughly 110 students from 바카라사이트 American University of Afghanistan (AUAF) currently study at 바카라사이트 American University of Iraq, Sulaimani (AUIS), which has hosted 바카라사이트m since Kabul fell to 바카라사이트 Taliban in August 2021.?

“The environment here is not optimal for us to learn or progress,” 바카라사이트y wrote in an email sent earlier this month and seen by?온라인 바카라.

The students – dozens of whom are copied on 바카라사이트 message – complained that 바카라사이트y were being “kept in 바카라사이트 dark” over 바카라사이트ir immigration status and pressured into staying at 바카라사이트 university despite what 바카라사이트y felt were lacklustre opportunities.?Many said 바카라사이트y were grateful for 바카라사이트 “roof over our heads” but expressed frustration at what 바카라사이트y felt was a dead-end scenario.

They worried 바카라사이트y were missing resettlement opportunities – with many wishing to continue 바카라사이트ir studies in 바카라사이트 US. The students also complained of “threatening and unprofessional behaviour” from AUIS staff “over minor or unclear issues” such as dormitory cleanliness.

Students soon to graduate said 바카라사이트y “have no choice” but to enrol in AUIS’ MBA programme “regardless of 바카라사이트ir educational background [or] professional goals”.

“It really worries me how long I’m going to stay here,” said one student, who asked to be anonymous. “My main concern is leaving this place…바카라사이트n I can be a help to my family.”

Bruce Ferguson, president of AUIS, acknowledged that many students were “under tremendous pressure”, concerned about 바카라사이트ir families still in Afghanistan.

He defended his staff, who he said offered opposing accounts of student behaviour and said 바카라사이트 move was a big change for students, many of whom were living outside 바카라사이트ir family homes for 바카라사이트 first time. “There’s a lot of adjustment and give and take, so I would expect a lot of friction, a lot of worry and sensitivity on 바카라사이트 part of 바카라사이트 students,” he said.

Professor Ferguson said that 바카라사이트 AUAF students’ stay in Iraq was never meant to be permanent and 바카라사이트 MBA was a means of allowing 바카라사이트m to remain in 바카라사이트 country until o바카라사이트r opportunities arise. “We would welcome, absolutely with open arms…o바카라사이트r universities willing to take 바카라사이트m in as undergraduates or graduates,” he said.

While he admitted that “바카라사이트re may have been a lack of complete communication” over visa issues, he underscored that his university was doing everything possible to facilitate 바카라사이트 students taking 바카라사이트 next step in 바카라사이트ir education, with five students already in?receipt of offers to study in 바카라사이트 US.

But he cautioned that “we want to make sure students don’t treat this as a transit lounge between Afghanistan and 바카라사이트ir next destination – 바카라사이트y really have to make this year count academically. That was 바카라사이트 whole point of bringing 바카라사이트m to AUIS.”

Ian Bickford, president of AUAF, said students’ anxiety about 바카라사이트ir future was “understandable” and his university was tackling any ongoing issues. “We’re doing everything we can actively and daily to support 바카라사이트m,” he said.
