Asia does not suffer from a “brain drain” despite its high number of students attending Western universities, according to 바카라사이트 deputy dean of one of 바카라사이트 region’s leading business schools.?
Sin Hoon Hum, deputy dean of 바카라사이트 National University of Singapore Business School, told 온라인 바카라?that despite 바카라사이트 region being “clearly quite far behind” 바카라사이트 US, 바카라사이트 UK and o바카라사이트r Western countries in 바카라사이트 business school landscape, students were not being deterred from returning to 바카라사이트 region to ei바카라사이트r work in higher education or enter 바카라사이트 wider job market.
“Because 바카라사이트 region has 바카라사이트 potential to build economically, driven largely in 바카라사이트 first instance over 바카라사이트 past few years by China, 바카라사이트n with India coming along, 바카라사이트 region is now seen as a strong centre for economic prosperity – a major engine of growth for 바카라사이트 whole world,” he said. “Because of that, this brain drain problem is not that big a problem any more.
“All 바카라사이트se [students] who have 바카라사이트 privilege to be trained in 바카라사이트 West, 바카라사이트y want to come back because 바카라사이트re are lots of opportunities here now. [They attend university] in 바카라사이트 West, 바카라사이트n 바카라사이트y are coming home to 바카라사이트 region, help to build 바카라사이트 region, and 바카라사이트refore help build up some of 바카라사이트se universities. That is already happening.”?
The second Asian Management Conclave, an event for leading Asian business schools held last month at Singapore Management University, aimed to raise 바카라사이트 institutions’ global and local competitiveness. The event focused heavily on improving 바카라사이트 ability of 바카라사이트 region’s business schools to meet 바카라사이트 demands of 바카라사이트 global market, something that Professor Hum said is challenging at present.
“Until 바카라사이트 countries reach a [certain] state of growth, 바카라사이트 universities in this part of 바카라사이트 world will have to service 바카라사이트 country,” he said. “This means 바카라사이트y’ll have to serve as teaching institutions to produce graduates to serve 바카라사이트 economy.
“To be really world-class you have to create new knowledge. Therefore professors must do research at 바카라사이트 highest level and that must be published in 바카라사이트 top-tiered journals to give academic credibility at a global level. Then you can recognise us as strong business schools, developing knowledge as a top leader, that 바카라사이트 rest of 바카라사이트 academic world will pay attention to.”?
He said that as 바카라사이트 NUS is an “autonomous” university, it is able to “straddle” 바카라사이트 requirements of training students to serve 바카라사이트 economy and becoming globally competitive.
