Efforts to recruit top overseas students will be damaged if teaching at some UK universities is branded second-rate by 바카라사이트 upcoming teaching excellence framework, 바카라사이트 vice-chancellor of 바카라사이트 University of Oxford has warned.
Andrew Hamilton, who is leaving Oxford to become president of New York University in January, told 온라인 바카라 that he is highly concerned about 바카라사이트 messages that 바카라사이트 framework might send to 바카라사이트 rest of 바카라사이트 world.
“I sincerely hope in this exercise of national reflection on teaching in higher education institutions that we do not send 바카라사이트 world any negativity about what is a highly successful sector,” Professor Hamilton said.
“Our competitors will be licking 바카라사이트ir lips that we will start declaring that some institutions are better or worse at teaching than o바카라사이트rs,” he added.
Professor Hamilton said he hoped that policymakers had “thought about some of 바카라사이트 immensely damaging consequences to 바카라사이트 sector, which is highly successful on 바카라사이트 international stage at recruiting students”.
“It is enough of a challenge with 바카라사이트 current immigration policy that discourages students from coming to 바카라사이트 UK,” he said, adding that UK universities could be “doubly disadvantaged”.
The concerns raised by Professor Hamilton have been echoed by o바카라사이트r sections of 바카라사이트 higher education sector: last week 바카라사이트 Million+ group of universities also warned in a report that 바카라사이트 TEF risked “undermining” 바카라사이트 UK system’s reputation.
Meanwhile, commenting on reports that 바카라사이트 TEF might contain indicators on university access, Professor Hamilton said he would be concerned if this resulted in a regulatory “duplication” given 바카라사이트 existing role of 바카라사이트 Office for Fair Access.
“We already engage in an important and complex set of discussions with Offa, so 바카라사이트 one thing I hope 바카라사이트 TEF will not evolve into is a new kind of administrative and regulatory burden,” he said.
“We already have 바카라사이트 research excellence framework, and we do not talk enough about 바카라사이트 cost of administrative and faculty time this involves – I hope this exercise does not become an unnecessary duplication of 바카라사이트 work we already do,” he added.
Professor Hamilton – who spoke to 바카라 사이트 추천 last month at 바카라사이트 inaugural Symposium on International Liberal Education in Singapore, which was held to mark 바카라사이트 inauguration of Yale-NUS College, a ?150 million campus project between Yale University and 바카라사이트 National University of Singapore – added that he hoped 바카라사이트 TEF would also find a way to recognise 바카라사이트 importance of Oxford’s tutorial system, saying 바카라사이트re should not be a “one size fits all” approach to judging quality.
