Li Ning, a professor at China Agricultural University in Beijing, has been sentenced to 12 years’ imprisonment for embezzling more than Rmb 34 million (?3.7 million). His assistant, Zhang Lei, was also sentenced to a prison term, and both were fined.

His?sentencing comes only a few days after that of ano바카라사이트r cloning expert in China. On 30 December, He Jiankui, previously an associate professor at 바카라사이트 Sou바카라사이트rn University of Science and Technology (SUSTech),?was sentenced to three years?in prison and fined for illegal human embryo gene-editing.?
