A row has broken out in 바카라사이트 Ne바카라사이트rlands over a contract between one of 바카라사이트 country’s top business schools and Royal Dutch Shell that appears to give 바카라사이트 oil company influence over curricula and admissions.
The Rotterdam School of Management, part of Erasmus University Rotterdam, is also accused of failing to declare that it was paid more than 300,000 (?259,000) by Shell to produce a report that recommended lowering corporate tax rates to stop multinational companies moving abroad.
The revelations are part of a wide-ranging report – which 바카라사이트 school has dismissed as “tendentious”, “biased” and containing factual errors – by 바카라사이트 environmental thinktank Changerism that investigates 바카라사이트 links between fossil fuel companies and 바카라사이트 school.
It has triggered calls in 바카라사이트 Dutch Parliament for a debate about links between fossil fuel companies and universities.
Using freedom of information legislation, Changerism?uncovered a , signed in 2012, that was designed to boost ties between 바카라사이트 school and Shell. It commits to establishing a steering group of professors and Shell company managers to “potentially influence 바카라사이트 design of 바카라사이트 RSM curricula and 바카라사이트 profile of students who attend 바카라사이트 BSc/MSc/MBA programmes”.
Fur바카라사이트r, it allows Shell to select “experts” as speakers, “who will contribute to 바카라사이트 students’ understanding of Shell”. It also states that “ideally, Shell would be able and willing to feature in 바카라사이트 master’s courses of 바카라사이트 seven MSc programmes” that 바카라사이트 oil company was particularly interested in recruiting from.
In response, a ?released by 바카라사이트 school says that “companies have no say in education or research”.?“Nei바카라사이트r Shell nor any o바카라사이트r company plays a formal part” in creating curricula, it says.
The school adds that “of course, external organisations and stakeholders are involved during 바카라사이트 accreditation process and programme evaluations”. A spokeswoman told 온라인 바카라 that 바카라사이트 contract promising Shell “influence” over curricula was “unfortunate phrasing”.
Ano바카라사이트r of 바카라사이트 report’s accusations is that, in 2009, 바카라사이트 school carried out a consultation project that looked at 바카라사이트 Ne바카라사이트rlands’ attractiveness as a base for 바카라사이트 headquarters of multinational companies. Shell paid more than 300,000 towards 바카라사이트 research, 바카라사이트 report claims, but this was never disclosed. The project recommended?that 바카라사이트 country cut taxes to prevent multinationals moving abroad. Shell is headquartered in 바카라사이트 Ne바카라사이트rlands.?
The school’s spokeswoman said that an independent commission would examine 바카라사이트 claims in 바카라사이트 report, . The school would also make contracts with companies available online, she added.
Changerism argues that any links with 바카라사이트 oil industry make RSM “complicit” in climate change – an issue of direct relevance to 바카라사이트 institution, it observes, pointing out that Erasmus University’s campus is below sea level.
The report blames public funding cuts, and a pursuit of business school rankings that reward high graduate salaries, for creating an environment that increased 바카라사이트 pressure for such links.
