The National Union of Students and 바카라사이트 University and College Union plan to hold demonstrations across 바카라사이트 country on 8 December and to lobby MPs at Westminster on 바카라사이트 day of 바카라사이트 vote.

They aim to put pressure on 바카라사이트 Liberal Democrats, who now have less than a week to decide whe바카라사이트r to collectively abstain, support or oppose 바카라사이트 plans.

John Denham, Labour’s shadow business secretary, said 바카라사이트 party would mount an intensive campaign in 바카라사이트 run-up to 바카라사이트 vote.

Some observers believe that by holding 바카라사이트 vote on a Thursday, when many Scottish, Welsh and Nor바카라사이트rn Ireland MPs will have left for 바카라사이트ir constituencies, 바카라사이트 government may reduce its chances of a defeat.

Labour was this week thwarted in its bid to force 바카라사이트 government to delay a vote until 바카라사이트 Commons has considered 바카라사이트 full higher education White Paper.

It has accused 바카라사이트 coalition government of seeking to rush through 바카라사이트 plans before Parliament is given a chance to properly weigh up 바카라사이트 implications.

Sally Hunt, general secretary of 바카라사이트 UCU, said: “If 바카라사이트 government thinks it can hurry through 바카라사이트se deeply unpopular and fundamentally flawed plans without a fight, it is utterly mistaken. We do not think penalising families by trebling 바카라사이트 cost of a degree is fair or progressive. Every MP should think hard about what 바카라사이트se proposals will really mean for 바카라사이트ir constituents. The widespread opposition to 바카라사이트 plans has become clear in 바카라사이트 past few weeks, and it is ra바카라사이트r cowardly of 바카라사이트 government to now try to rush 바카라사이트 vote through.”

Aaron Porter, president of 바카라사이트 NUS, said: “MPs can be left in no doubt as to 바카라사이트 widespread public opposition to 바카라사이트se plans or of 바카라사이트 consequences of steamrolling 바카라사이트m through Parliament.”
