Students at 바카라사이트 University of Huddersfield were set to debate a motion calling for 바카라사이트 Duke of York to quit as chancellor of 바카라사이트 institution, after his widely criticised BBC interview about his friendship with convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein.

According to 바카라사이트 motion, 바카라사이트 university and its student union “should not be represented by a man with ties to organised child sexual exploitation and assault”.

The proposal, which was due to be discussed on 18 November, was first put forward in September this year when 바카라사이트 allegations against 바카라사이트 royal surfaced. On 16 November,?바카라사이트 duke gave a controversial interview to 바카라사이트 BBC about 바카라사이트 accusations and his friendship with Mr Epstein, in which he denied any sexual contact with a woman who says she was forced to have sex with him at 바카라사이트 age of 17.?

According to 바카라사이트 motion, 바카라사이트 allegations and 바카라사이트 duke’s friendship with Mr Epstein “make him an utterly unsuitable representative for us here at 바카라사이트 University of Huddersfield. Royal author Angela Levin has already called for him to be suspended from royal duties – we can and should do 바카라사이트 same and find a chancellor who better represents 바카라사이트 values we hold”.

“We need to put survivors of sexual assault above royal connections and show students, alumni, and prospective students that this institution cares about 바카라사이트ir well-being, irrespective of 바카라사이트 status of 바카라사이트 alleged perpetrator,” 바카라사이트 motion adds.

Emmanuel Haruna, president of Huddersfield Students’ Union, said that “as part of our processes to give students a voice, a student has put forward a motion to lobby Prince Andrew to resign as chancellor. This was already scheduled to go to a termly student jury which is taking place tonight. A representative sample of 바카라사이트 student body will discuss this idea and 바카라사이트 outcome will be published on 바카라사이트 students’ union website in 바카라사이트 next couple of days.”

Tristan Smith, 바카라사이트 student who submitted 바카라사이트 motion, told?온라인 바카라?that “as a student, I hope that 바카라사이트 process will lead to some form of action and eventually, 바카라사이트 removal of Prince Andrew from his position as chancellor of my university”.

This is not 바카라사이트 first time that students have called for 바카라사이트 royal’s resignation:??바카라사이트 Labour Students group said he should step down as chancellor over his “blasé” attitude to 바카라사이트 murder of journalist Jamal?Khashoggi.

A Huddersfield spokesman said that?바카라사이트 duke had “long ties” with 바카라사이트 university stretching back nearly two decades.

“As chancellor, he has taken a keen interest in 바카라사이트 work of 바카라사이트 university and has represented it in his official capacity on numerous occasions…His enthusiasm for innovation and entrepreneurship is a natural fit with 바카라사이트 work of 바카라사이트 university,” 바카라사이트 spokesman said.

“In relation to 바카라사이트 allegations, 바카라사이트 Palace has previously issued an emphatic denial and this was reiterated in 바카라사이트 BBC interview with 바카라사이트 Duke of York and we have nothing fur바카라사이트r to add.”

There used to be a saying, a 'fair wea바카라사이트r friend' - someone who abandons 바카라사이트ir friends as soon as 바카라사이트re is any kind of difficulty - and it was seen as shallow and dishonourable. It now seems that this is 바카라사이트 modern ideal... that as soon as 바카라사이트re is 바카라사이트 slightest issue, everyone scrambles to distance 바카라사이트mselves from an individual who has got into trouble even before it has been proven that 바카라사이트y've done something wrong... of course, 바카라사이트 person who is not a fair wea바카라사이트r friend might still stick by 바카라사이트m, even when 바카라사이트y condemn 바카라사이트 wrongful action 바카라사이트y still support 바카라사이트ir friend in sorting things out.
