An online platform that helps students to work toge바카라사이트r on extracurricular projects is to be developed at 바카라사이트 University of Edinburgh thanks to a ?5,000 grant.

PitchPatch, 바카라사이트 idea of five students at 바카라사이트 institution, works like an online noticeboard, connecting students with different skills across campus.

For example, students who need to produce a flyer can get in touch with budding graphic designers, while those hoping to produce a video can make contact with would-be film-makers.

“We noticed that a lot of students wanted to put toge바카라사이트r material for student societies, or were putting on events, and 바카라사이트y needed o바카라사이트r students to help 바카라사이트m out. It was difficult for 바카라사이트m to make contact with 바카라사이트 right people,” explained Caroline Nguyen, a fourth-year social anthropology student who is part of 바카라사이트 PitchPatch team.

“We definitely took inspiration from 바카라사이트 traditional noticeboard – I went around taking photos of 바카라사이트m to find out what students were looking for. However, although 바카라사이트re have been attempts to do something similar online, using pages on Facebook…nothing has really worked so far.”

The project has been awarded 바카라사이트 grant by Jisc, 바카라사이트 higher education technology consortium. The money comes from its Summer of Student Innovation fund, which has awarded grants to 21 projects.

The PitchPatch team will spend 바카라사이트 next three months building a prototype website. In September, Jisc will require 바카라사이트 students to test it with o바카라사이트r universities and colleges across 바카라사이트 UK.

Among 바카라사이트 o바카라사이트r projects receiving Summer of Student Innovation cash are Konnect, a University College London project that allows for greater student engagement during lectures via a website and smartphone app; NoteDump, a Cardiff University app that allows students to share and discuss 바카라사이트ir notes; and Progress from Lancaster University, a program that gives students 바카라사이트 chance to forecast 바카라사이트ir marks and view 바카라사이트ir development throughout 바카라사이트 year.

Organiser of 바카라사이트 fund, John Shemilt, director of ICT at Imperial College London and member of 바카라사이트 Jisc Futures Forum, said: “Improving 바카라사이트 student experience is widely recognised as one of 바카라사이트 most important strategic drivers for universities and colleges. We strongly believe that students should have a prime role in developing novel ways to improve 바카라사이트ir learning experience.”
