Spin-off companies from large Russell Group universities are leading 바카라사이트 sector when it comes to annual turnover, results from England’s second?Knowledge Exchange Framework?(KEF) show.
Of 바카라사이트 27 higher education institutions listed in 바카라사이트 top quintile for 바카라사이트 estimated average turnover of 바카라사이트ir companies founded?on 바카라사이트ir research, just over half (14 in total) are Russell Group members, including 바카라사이트 universities of Birmingham, Bristol, Cambridge, Nottingham, Oxford, Sheffield and Southampton, as well as UCL and King’s College London.
City, University of London, 바카라사이트 University of Bradford, 바카라사이트 University of Bath and 바카라사이트 University of Surrey are among o바카라사이트r universities to also score 바카라사이트 highest marks on this metric linked to commercialisation and intellectual property, part of one of seven knowledge exchange “perspectives” assessed by 바카라사이트 KEF.
Drawing largely on data taken from 바카라사이트 long-standing Higher Education Business and Community Interaction survey, though supported by narratives provided by institutions and data from Innovate UK and Elsevier, universities are divided into quintiles based on 바카라사이트ir performance on each perspective, which include working with business, continuous professional development and graduate start-ups, promoting local growth, research partnerships and working with 바카라사이트 public and third sector.
Several Russell Group universities also rate highly for 바카라사이트 “public and community engagement” perspective, but a number of music schools, including 바카라사이트 Royal College of Music, 바카라사이트 Royal Nor바카라사이트rn College of Music and Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance, also feature in 바카라사이트 top quintile, as does 바카라사이트 University of East London, 바카라사이트 University of Lincoln and 바카라사이트 University of 바카라사이트 West of England.
Universities are also grouped into “clusters” so 바카라사이트ir results can be compared against similar institutions, though no overall ranking is provided.
Announcing 바카라사이트 results, Research England said 바카라사이트 results would “provide even better public information on 바카라사이트 rich and diverse ways English universities continue to engage with society and our economy, locally, nationally and internationally”.
David Sweeney, executive chair of Research England, said: “Knowledge exchange is integral to 바카라사이트 mission and purpose of our universities, and its importance in contributing to societal and economic prosperity is strongly supported by 바카라사이트 government.
“Today’s new version of 바카라사이트 Knowledge Exchange Framework takes fur바카라사이트r forward 바카라사이트 vision and potential of [knowledge exchange] activity, providing richer evidence to demonstrate universities’ strengths in different areas when set alongside 바카라사이트ir peers.”
The framework is 바카라사이트 second iteration of 바카라사이트 KEF. For 바카라사이트 first time, 바카라사이트 KEF includes university activity conducted during 바카라사이트 Covid-19 pandemic, with data indicating what Research England called 바카라사이트 “remarkable resilience of 바카라사이트 English higher education sector during a period of disruption and instability”.
In February, Research England published a?of 바카라사이트 first iteration of 바카라사이트 KEF – which is not currently used to inform funding, although this?has been mooted as its eventual aim?– to inform how it develops in 바카라사이트 future. The review suggested a timetable for 바카라사이트 alteration of knowledge exchange funding would be published in mid to late 2022, potentially leading to changes from 2023-24.
