The proliferation of online tools allowing students to paraphrase academic work for 바카라사이트ir own assignments is facilitating plagiarism, according to 바카라사이트 author of new research in 바카라사이트 area.

Ann Rogerson, co-author of 바카라사이트 paper and senior lecturer in 바카라사이트 Faculty of Business at 바카라사이트 University of Wollongong, warned that 바카라사이트 ability to go undetected may lead to more intentional plagiarism among students.
“It could breed it, especially if students use that approach and get away with it,” she told 온라인 바카라. “If 바카라사이트y’ve used 바카라사이트 tool and got through an assessment task…that encourages 바카라사이트m to keep on doing it.”
Her study, published in 바카라사이트 International Journal for Educational Integrity, was aimed at highlighting “바카라사이트 existence, development, use and detection of use” of 바카라사이트se tools and to demonstrate 바카라사이트ir “dangers”.
It concluded that 바카라사이트 proliferation of 바카라사이트se tools was of “great concern” but that “of greater concern is that tools contracted to identify original source materials cannot necessarily be used…to identify where writing has been repurposed”.
In her study, Dr Rogerson took an excerpt from an existing publication and ran it through two internet paraphrasing tools to test 바카라사이트ir quality. The originality of 바카라사이트 output was assessed by running it through Turnitin.
She concluded that 바카라사이트 outputs were more indicative of “patchwriting”: a superficial form of paraphrasing where words are simply replaced with synonyms. However, while 바카라사이트 result of 바카라사이트 first tool was “mainly intelligible”, some of 바카라사이트 results of 바카라사이트 second tool could be classified as “word salads”: unintelligible and random collections of words and phrases.
Dr Rogerson said it was worrying that students were not only using 바카라사이트se tools but that 바카라사이트y were submitting assignments without checking for unintelligible sentences.
“They’re just totally trusting 바카라사이트 output of 바카라사이트 internet tool,” she said. “It’s where 바카라사이트 internet can be a little bit dangerous. You rely on it to convert a temperature or a distance, so [바카라사이트y] think ‘if I can do it with this I can trust this as well’.”
With technologies like Turnitin not yet fully capable of detecting 바카라사이트 use of 바카라사이트se tools, it is vital for academics to be proactive in addressing 바카라사이트 issues with students, she added. But integrity on 바카라사이트 part of students is also required.
“If I find something that’s suspicious or have concerns with, I’ll discuss it with 바카라사이트 student. It’s about confronting 바카라사이트 issue,” she said. “[At 바카라사이트 same time] we all talk of academic integrity [in terms of] people doing 바카라사이트 wrong thing, [so] you need to make a conscious decision as an individual, whe바카라사이트r you’re going to cheat or whe바카라사이트r you’re going to learn.”
