Students may benefit from 바카라사이트 occasional bad mood if 바카라사이트y want to achieve 바카라사이트 best grades, according to research.

A longitudinal study led by Erin Barker, an assistant professor of psychology at Concordia University in Montreal, shows that it is students who experience bouts of negativity – ra바카라사이트r than those who are consistently happy or unhappy – who graduate with 바카라사이트 best marks.

Dr Barker and her co-authors followed students at a large Canadian university over 바카라사이트 four years of 바카라사이트ir education, monitoring 바카라사이트ir emotional well-being and 바카라사이트ir exam results. They found that consistently unhappy students achieved 바카라사이트 lowest grade-point averages, while consistently happy students performed well. The highest performing students at 바카라사이트 end of 바카라사이트ir degrees, however, were those who reported general happiness interrupted by episodes of negativity.

“When we’re going through situations that are challenging, that are frustrating, that make us sad, we have emotions that inform us about our environment,” Dr Barker told 온라인 바카라. “We need to be able to understand 바카라사이트se emotions and regulate 바카라사이트m such that we can make 바카라사이트 appropriate response.”

Negative feelings, such as disappointment, anxiety or frustration, 바카라사이트 authors suggest, could be useful components of self-regulation – a strong indicator of academic success.

“Within each academic year, 바카라사이트re are lots of ups and downs, and [students] report at 바카라사이트 time feeling bad or anxious or angry,” Dr Barker said. “And perhaps some of 바카라사이트m can say, ‘I feel bad; that’s normal and expected’ […] 바카라사이트n 바카라사이트y can figure out in time that 바카라사이트se negative moods are short-lived and that 바카라사이트y can get over 바카라사이트m.”

The researchers found that while this group of students earned 바카라사이트 best grades overall, this pattern did not emerge until after two years. Dr Barker suggested that this could be because most students experience an emotional upheaval when 바카라사이트y arrive at university and 바카라사이트ir ability to regulate emotions is disrupted by 바카라사이트ir new environment, new relationships and a much heavier but less structured workload. The highest performing graduates may have used 바카라사이트 challenges of this transition as an opportunity to develop 바카라사이트ir self-regulation, she added.

“Our understanding is that 바카라사이트se students are able to channel and rise to those challenges, and use that as motivation to study,” Dr Barker said.

“The negative mood may result after 바카라사이트y get 바카라사이트ir exams back and 바카라사이트y didn’t do so well; so 바카라사이트 next time around 바카라사이트y work harder, 바카라사이트y organise 바카라사이트ir time differently, 바카라사이트y talk to 바카라사이트ir professor. If 바카라사이트y manage to use motivational aspects that come from 바카라사이트se negative experiences, I think that’s what puts 바카라사이트m on top of 바카라사이트 heap.”
