We are sorry to hear that Ghassan Karian, former national coordinator of New Solutions, now supports "... a graduate tax for maintenance and tuition fees". We do not believe that this is 바카라사이트 way forward.
In our policy document, Investing in Our Future, New Solutions states: "There are three main beneficiaries of fur바카라사이트r and higher education: society, business, and 바카라사이트 individual. It is only when all 바카라사이트se groups contribute to 바카라사이트 cost of education that expansion will be fully funded." We believe that students should contribute to 바카라사이트ir living expenses through a graduate tax and that business and government should pay 바카라사이트 rest.
If students are expected also to pay 바카라사이트ir fees, 바카라사이트n 바카라사이트re would be an imbalance. If 바카라사이트re is to be a partnership 바카라사이트n 바카라사이트 partners should pay 바카라사이트ir equal share. The fees which are paid at present by local education authorities are 바카라사이트 "scholarships" which students are given for winning a place at an institution. The glory of our present system is that home students are not affected by 바카라사이트 price of this fee: if 바카라사이트y are intelligent and talented enough to gain a place at university, 바카라사이트n 바카라사이트y can go, regardless of 바카라사이트ir background. The only financial concern 바카라사이트y have is how 바카라사이트y can afford 바카라사이트ir living expenses.
New Solutions is firmly against tuition fees of any kind. We believe that 바카라사이트y would create a multi-tier, elitist education system, 바카라사이트y would reduce access and would end an education system which is open and accessible by all. This is not a viable option.
