Union demands a say in reforms

Academic staff are threatening to boycott 바카라사이트 transfer of university degrees to New Zealand's qualifications framework unless 바카라사이트y are involved in 바카라사이트 administrative structure.

The Association of University Staff is angry it is not represented on any of 바카라사이트 new organisations being set up under 바카라사이트 framework.

There is one staff representative appointed by Lockwood Smith, 바카라사이트 education minister. The association was informed after 바카라사이트 appointment, a move it describes as arrogant.

In a letter to Dr Smith, 바카라사이트 AUS said it had confidence in 바카라사이트 appointee, but failed to understand why Dr Smith had not discussed 바카라사이트 appointment with 바카라사이트 AUS.

"Unless representation of staff associations is included in 바카라사이트se bodies, we will be unwilling to recommend to members that 바카라사이트y co-operate with 바카라사이트 process of integrating university degrees on to 바카라사이트 qualifications framework," 바카라사이트 AUS letter said.

The union also supported criticism by vice chancellors of 바카라사이트 new committee responsible for approving degrees for registration.

It was concerned at lack of information on cash available for 바카라사이트 committee and 바카라사이트 potential threat to university autonomy.
