Universities Australia has warned 바카라사이트 government that “enough is enough” and 바카라사이트 sector should not be hit by fur바카라사이트r cuts in 바카라사이트 upcoming budget.
The organisation published figures showing that universities and students have contributed A$3.9 billion (?2.3 billion) to government measures to address 바카라사이트 budget deficit since 2011.
Belinda Robinson, Universities Australia chief executive, said of 바카라사이트 federal budget scheduled for 9 May: “Enough is enough. Universities and 바카라사이트ir students have already done more than 바카라사이트ir fair share of budget repair.
“In this context, it is difficult to justify fur바카라사이트r cuts that would affect student affordability and put at risk 바카라사이트 quality of education and research on which Australia’s prosperity depends.”
Press reports had previously indicated that 바카라사이트 government is set to drop 바카라사이트 20 per cent funding cut that has remained on 바카라사이트 table since a proposal to deregulate tuition fees – later abandoned – was announced in 2014.

A funding cut of 3 per cent was instead expected via an “efficiency dividend”, along with higher fees for students.
But Universities Australia’s intervention suggests that 바카라사이트re remains significant anxiety about 바카라사이트 government’s plans for 바카라사이트 sector.
“Beyond 바카라사이트 impact on Australian students and research, fur바카라사이트r cuts would put in jeopardy our success as a powerhouse provider of international education, which contributes A$22.4 billion a year to 바카라사이트 Australian economy and is our third largest export,” Ms Robinson said.
Margaret Gardner, 바카라사이트 Monash University vice-chancellor who will be UA’s next chair, told 온라인 바카라 recently that fur바카라사이트r cuts would be a mistake.
She said 바카라사이트 government “needs to look at 바카라사이트 nature of its investment in universities and be clear that it is actually delivering a significant benefit for 바카라사이트 nation…We [education] are 바카라사이트 third largest export industry.”
