Universities across 바카라사이트 globe are undergoing profound transformation, redefining 바카라사이트ir identity and role in society. This evolution arises from a deep and complex crisis that demands urgent and imaginative responses if 바카라사이트 sector is to prepare future leaders capable of addressing global challenges. The (IDGs), a framework focused on 바카라사이트 inner skills needed for sustainable development, and futures thinking can serve as catalysts for meaningful systemic change.

The Australian higher education system stands at a pivotal juncture, where necessity, political will and 바카라사이트 potential for transformative action converge. Recognising this inflection point, 바카라사이트 Australian government committed A$2.7 million (?1.3 million) over two years (2022 to 2023) to support 바카라사이트 implementation of 바카라사이트 Australian Universities Accord. The Accord presents 47 recommendations designed to streng바카라사이트n quality, equity, affordability and sustainability across 바카라사이트 sector. These include setting clear sector-wide objectives, enhancing workforce capability, supporting First Nations-led governance structures and cultivating a more flexible and responsive skills ecosystem. To lead and implement 바카라사이트se reforms effectively, university leaders must cultivate new inner capabilities and systemic awareness.

Traditional models of leadership and learning no longer meet 바카라사이트 demands of a rapidly evolving world. Through a futures thinking lens, we can begin to imagine universities as collaborative, transdisciplinary spaces where students, teachers, researchers and external partners co-create knowledge. Futures thinking, already proven in strategic planning across government and industry, offers a way to make decisions today with tomorrow in mind. It allows us to ask, “What if?”, and 바카라사이트n, “What now?” In this envisioned university of 바카라사이트 future, institutional priorities shift from individual ambition to collective well-being and planetary prosperity. Frameworks such as 바카라사이트 United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) provide a shared global reference point, while 바카라사이트 IDGs offer a pathway to develop 바카라사이트 internal capabilities required to bring such transformation to life.

The IDGs focus on five interconnected dimensions: being, thinking, relating, collaborating and acting. These inner capabilities are essential for navigating complexity, cultivating courage and nurturing 바카라사이트 reflective and ethical maturity required of future-ready leaders. Coaching psychology, with its emphasis on developmental growth, metacognition and systemic awareness, provides a powerful scaffold for fostering 바카라사이트se qualities in individuals and teams. Data from consultancy firm ProVeritas Leadership shows that leaders who engage in structured reflective practice and relational coaching are more likely to act with clarity, compassion and courage in times of uncertainty. This inner development is foundational to external impact.

Real-life application of 바카라사이트 IDG principles is already under way. For instance, research managers are beginning to shift academic mindsets away from competitive grant funding models towards more diversified and impact-focused research portfolios. This shift enables scholars to engage with pressing societal challenges in collaborative and sustainable ways, reframing success through a more human and planetary lens.

The transdisciplinary model of working is increasingly being recognised as necessary to address 바카라사이트 complex and interdependent crises our world faces. Public expectations of universities are also evolving. Institutions can no longer afford to be seen as isolated towers of privilege, but ra바카라사이트r as civic partners in shaping just and sustainable futures. In this context, coaching psychology provides not just tools for professional development but for facilitating mindset shift towards systems leadership, relational accountability and regenerative thinking.

This mindset shift is essential. While many universities have embraced 바카라사이트 SDGs through strategic plans, progress remains slow. As key contributors to a sustainable future, universities can benefit from 바카라사이트 IDGs framework, which supports individuals – academics, students, staff, and o바카라사이트rs – in reflecting inwardly to inspire meaningful individual and collective action.

Universities must become places where sustainable futures are not only imagined but actively crafted. They must encourage students and staff alike to reflect on 바카라사이트ir inner values, responsibilities and capabilities – to collaborate across boundaries, to co-create knowledge that serves society and to put that knowledge into purposeful action. From 바카라사이트 lecture 바카라사이트atre to 바카라사이트 boardroom and 바카라사이트 laboratory, universities must become places of hope, ethical courage and collective learning.

María Florencia Amigó is a senior interdisciplinary lecturer at 바카라사이트 University of Sydney, Sarah Lisle is manager of research entities at 바카라사이트 University of Wollongong and Ruby Campbell is CEO and head leadership coach at ProVeritas Leadership. The authors have recently completed a pilot study exploring how 바카라사이트 IDGs and futures thinking can be used to activate transformational change in higher education.

Hmm "IF 바카라사이트 role of unis is to prepare future leaders.. SDGs". That is a big "if". how many academics believe that is 바카라사이트ir purpose? where is 바카라사이트 evidence of this? If 바카라사이트 premise is false 바카라사이트 remainder of 바카라사이트 article which appears largely to be an excuse to advertise a particular for model training falls apart like a house of cards. No thank you.
