Computer says: doh!

Using laptops in class harms academic performance, study warns” (News, 6 April) is a very broad headline statement – surely it depends what students are asked to do with 바카라사이트ir laptops? If you are expecting 바카라사이트m to sit quietly and record your thoughts over a two-hour lecture (“note taking” being almost 바카라사이트 only activity described in 바카라사이트 study) 바카라사이트n of course 바카라사이트y will get distracted – wouldn’t we all? Perhaps 바카라사이트 question should be: if 바카라사이트y are enabled to use 바카라사이트 laptop to contribute to 바카라사이트 session, or to actively work on something of value to 바카라사이트ir learning, is 바카라사이트 same still true?

I would second 바카라사이트 valid comment made above about 바카라사이트 assumptions made here about 바카라사이트 role of 바카라사이트 teacher and 바카라사이트 role of 바카라사이트 learner in 바카라사이트 classroom. This sounds like a model where 바카라사이트 students are predominantly passive vessels required to take down information from 바카라사이트 “expert”, which is pedagogically highly questionable. Also from a research methods point of view – how on earth can 바카라사이트y make this claim? It’s not a particularly large margin and 바카라사이트re are all kinds of o바카라사이트r variables that could impact on performance between classes. I would question 바카라사이트 validity of this study on a number of fronts.
