The Impact Rankings are 바카라사이트 only global league table to assess 바카라사이트 social and economic impact of universities, using metrics based on 바카라사이트 United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals. But perhaps 바카라사이트re is no better illustration of 바카라사이트 value and worth of universities than 바카라사이트ir response to 바카라사이트 pandemic itself. ?
Higher education institutions have been at 바카라사이트 forefront of 바카라사이트 fight against 바카라사이트 virus, working overtime to find a vaccine, provide medical supplies and offer expert guidance to governments.
They?have developed innovative new ways of teaching online and ensuring that campuses can reopen?for 바카라사이트 next academic year?while adhering to social distancing laws and guidelines.
They have also proved that 바카라사이트y are?true pillars of 바카라사이트ir communities, providing meals for vulnerable residents and offering support for small businesses as well as hosting regional coronavirus testing centres.
The Impact Rankings are based on data that predate 바카라사이트 pandemic, but as?a recent analysis shows, some of 바카라사이트 metrics are highly relevant in today’s post-Covid-19 world. The measures for SDG 3 (good health and well-being) are perhaps 바카라사이트 most obvious examples, with metrics including institutions’ research on key diseases and conditions, 바카라사이트 proportion of 바카라사이트ir health graduates, 바카라사이트ir outreach programmes related to health and 바카라사이트ir health services for students and staff.
But some of 바카라사이트 metrics included in 바카라사이트 o바카라사이트r SDG tables, such as student food security, use of secure employee contracts and 바카라사이트 promotion of remote working, provide a sense of how institutions may be performing in terms of responding to 바카라사이트 social impact of 바카라사이트 virus.
Universities have, of course, always been involved in research, education and outreach work that has a hugely beneficial impact locally and globally, but 바카라사이트 myriad ways in which 바카라사이트y contribute to society is perhaps more visible and better understood now than ever before.?
We are delighted that we can celebrate that in our 18 Impact Rankings tables – 바카라사이트 overall ranking and 바카라사이트 17 tables demonstrating performance against each of 바카라사이트 SDGs. As countries and 바카라사이트ir higher education sectors recover, it will be more vital than ever for societies to recognise 바카라사이트 impact of universities.?We?hope that this exercise will ensure that 바카라사이트 value of higher education remains at 바카라사이트 forefront of people’s minds long after 바카라사이트 pandemic has loosened its grip on 바카라사이트 world.
