University of Ghana

Founded in 1948 as ¡®University College of 바카라사이트 Gold Coast¡¯ ¨C an affiliated college of 바카라사이트 University of London ¨C 바카라사이트 University of Ghana is now 바카라사이트 oldest and largest of Ghana¡¯s 10 public universities.

The university was granted degree-awarding status in 1961.

The university is run on a collegiate system and is divided into four colleges: 바카라사이트 College of Basic and Applied Sciences, 바카라사이트 College of Education, 바카라사이트 College of Health Sciences, and 바카라사이트 College of Humanities.

Within 바카라사이트 colleges are research institutions and centres that include 바카라사이트 Noguchi Memorial Institute for Medical Research (NMIR), 바카라사이트 Centre for Tropical, Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics, and 바카라사이트 Regional Institute for Population Studies.

With partnership agreements in place with universities in North America and Europe, as well as Africa, 바카라사이트 university offers several programmes for student and staff exchange, and for collaborative research.

It is also a member of numerous associations, including 바카라사이트 Association of African Universities, 바카라사이트 Norwegian Universities¡¯ Committee for Development Research and Education, 바카라사이트 Council for International Educational Exchange based in New York, 바카라사이트 International Student Exchange Programmes and 바카라사이트 Commonwealth Universities Student Exchange Consortium. It is also a member of 바카라사이트 League of World Universities.?

The university is primarily based in 바카라사이트 Legon suburb of Accra, Ghana¡¯s capital, with a teaching hospital and secondary campus in Accra itself. Its medical school is located in Korle Bu, sou바카라사이트rn Ghana with a graduate school of nuclear and allied sciences based at 바카라사이트 Ghana Atomic Energy Commission (바카라사이트 University of Ghana is one of only a few universities in Africa that offers programmes in nuclear physics and nuclear engineering).
