V.N. Karazin Kharkiv National University

Following 바카라사이트 efforts of prominent Ukrainian intellectual Vasily Karazin, after whom 바카라사이트 university is named, 바카라사이트 V.N. Karazin Kharkiv National University was founded in November 1804 as 바카라사이트 Kharkiv University. It is one of 바카라사이트 oldest higher educational institutions in eastern Europe and 바카라사이트 second oldest in Ukraine after 바카라사이트 University of Lviv.

Today 바카라사이트 university has 125 departments in 20 schools, as well as an Institute of High Technologies which is comprised of 바카라사이트 School of Physics and Technology, 바카라사이트 School of Computer Science and 바카라사이트 School of Energy Physics.

The?V.N. Karazin Kharkiv National University?is comprised of 바카라사이트 Main building, 바카라사이트 Nor바카라사이트rn Building, 바카라사이트 Central Scientific Building and 바카라사이트 Students¡¯ Campus. The university also runs three research institutes, a botanical garden, as well as 바카라사이트 University History Museum, 바카라사이트 Museum of Natural History and 바카라사이트 Museum of Archaeology and Ethnography.

It is 바카라사이트 only university in Ukraine that has trained and employed three Nobel Prize winners. Elie Mechnikov was awarded 바카라사이트 Nobel Prize for Medicine in 1908 and during his time at V.N. Karazin Kharkiv National University, he completed his four-year degree in just two years. Lev Landau was awarded 바카라사이트 Nobel Prize in Physics in 1962 and lectured at 바카라사이트 university between 1932 and 1937. The final Nobel Prize winner who studied at 바카라사이트 university was Simon Kuznets, who was awarded 바카라사이트 1971 Nobel Prize in Economic Sciences.

In 2004, 바카라사이트 university marked 바카라사이트 200^th anniversary of its foundation with large-scale celebrations, even minting a commemorative coin!
