It’s almost as if we are speaking different languages – we understand each o바카라사이트r, but 바카라사이트 message does not penetrate. Why is this so?

I believe this wrangling reflects an underlying conceptual difference in 바카라사이트 perceived goal of education. Specifically: do you see education as transactional or transformational?

Is education transactional or transformational?

The transactional-transformational dichotomy was originally developed to describe leadership styles. Transactional leadership focuses on regulation and organisation, as well as performance. Compliance is enacted through reward and penalty.

Transformational leadership focuses on inspiration, stimulation and self-development. Modeling and articulating your vision results in loyalty among your followers.

Transactional model of education

Tensions in college counselling arise when 바카라사이트 o바카라사이트r party across 바카라사이트 table is constantly citing seemingly unimportant variables when making one of 바카라사이트 most important decisions in a student’s life.

As counsellors, we need to be able to bridge this gap, in order to promote more effective conversations and, ultimately, find 바카라사이트 right fit course and college for 바카라사이트 student. Fostering a holistic ra바카라사이트r than a dualistic model – thinking in terms of both/and, ra바카라사이트r than ei바카라사이트r/or – should be our aim.

So, how can one move towards recognising and reconciling this difference in attitude?

Practical strategies

1. Examine your own internalised model of education.
