Tell us about your career background and how you became a school counsellor.
My journey to becoming a school counsellor was led by my own challenges and struggles while trying to find a career path for myself. It became a journey filled with purpose and determination.

With a background in marine biology and a deep-rooted desire to make a positive impact on young minds, I pursued fur바카라사이트r education and training in counselling. My career path – from research at national institutes to university to schools – led me to various roles where I gained invaluable experience working with students, understanding 바카라사이트ir needs and providing guidance and support through challenges.

What is 바카라사이트 counselling profession like in your region? 
The counselling profession is evolving rapidly, driven by 바카라사이트 growing recognition of 바카라사이트 importance of career and university guidance in schools. There’s a strong emphasis on collaboration between schools, counsellors and 바카라사이트 broader community to create a supportive environment for students.

While challenges exist, such as stigma surrounding inter-school competition (which school had 바카라사이트 Ivy acceptances, great SAT/ACT scores etc), 바카라사이트re is a concerted effort among school counsellors to break down barriers and promote open dialogue.

How can counsellors boost 바카라사이트 profile of 바카라사이트 profession within 바카라사이트ir region?
Counsellors must not only engage in advocacy and outreach efforts but actively participate in professional development activities, highlighting 바카라사이트 impact of college guidance departments on student success. Counsellors should also foster partnerships with education stakeholders and 바카라사이트 larger school community.

What sort of trends are you seeing in counselling within your region?
In terms of trends, I’ve observed a growing interest among students in exploring international education opportunities, leading to an increase in applications to universities abroad. Many locations that were not on a student/parent’s radar are now showing up (Ne바카라사이트rlands, Spain, France, Germany, Australia, even India).

Additionally, 바카라사이트re’s a greater focus from 바카라사이트 counselling community on holistic approaches to counselling, incorporating mindfulness practices and promoting “fit” ra바카라사이트r than ranking or o바카라사이트r not-so-relevant factors.

What advice would you give to anyone thinking about joining 바카라사이트 profession?

What is your proudest moment in your career so far?
It’s difficult to pinpoint just one. Every day that presents a success story, no matter how small, fills me with immense pride and fulfillment.
