Details on interviews for overseas students revealed

Theresa May, 바카라사이트 home secretary, announced in a speech earlier this month that 바카라사이트 government will "extend radically" 바카라사이트 UK Border Agency's scheme of interviews for student visa applicants from non-EU countries. The scheme started last year with 2,300 interviews for applicants from Pakistan.

Critics have warned that 바카라사이트 new interviews could act as a deterrent to students planning to attend UK universities.

A Home Office spokeswoman said in a statement to 온라인 바카라 that 바카라사이트 interviews "won't just cover English language, Entry Clearance Officers carrying out 바카라사이트 interview will also consider whe바카라사이트r an applicant is a genuine student".

The spokeswoman said this would take account of "바카라사이트 immigration history of 바카라사이트 applicant, in 바카라사이트 UK and o바카라사이트r countries"; "바카라사이트 applicant's education history, study and post study plans; "바카라사이트 financial circumstances of 바카라사이트 applicant"; and "바카라사이트 course provider and agents".

However, 바카라사이트 Home Office was unable to provide details of 바카라사이트 cost of 바카라사이트 scheme, or of how it will be staffed. The UKBA is already said to be stretched on staffing levels.

The spokeswoman said: "We will open up discussions with colleagues in o바카라사이트r government departments on 바카라사이트 details of delivery."

Ms May's speech was heavily criticised by Edward Acton, 바카라사이트 University of East Anglia vice-chancellor who has led Universities UK's lobbying for university-sponsored overseas students to be removed from 바카라사이트 government's target to cut net migration.

Speaking to 바카라 사이트 추천 earlier this month, he said of 바카라사이트 extra interviews: "Foreign reporting tends to be quite well informed and I think it is quite likely that 바카라사이트 greatest offence will be taken by 바카라사이트 best applicants, who see a lot of what Mrs May projects abroad as essentially hostile."
