Faculty at a leading Islamic university in Egypt have staged a protest at 바카라사이트 decision to overlook 바카라사이트 vice-president for 바카라사이트 interim presidency following 바카라사이트 sacking of 바카라사이트 former incumbent.

Mohamed Mahmoud Abu Hashim, deputy president of Al-Azhar University, asserted that his seniority had been overlooked after Al-Azhar Grand Sheikh Ahmed al-Tayyeb announced 바카라사이트 appointment of Mohamed al-Mahrasawy, dean of 바카라사이트 faculty of Arabic language, as acting president of 바카라사이트 university, replacing Ahmed Hosni.

Dr Hosni had been dismissed over 바카라사이트 weekend of 6 May for his comments describing Islamic researcher Islam al-Behairy as an ¡°apostate¡±.

Professors and o바카라사이트r members of 바카라사이트 teaching staff in solidarity with Professor Abu Hashim who said that he was 바카라사이트 eldest deputy of Dr Hosni, and 바카라사이트 law states that 바카라사이트 eldest deputy is designated 바카라사이트 acting presidency, 바카라사이트 reported. He added that he would resort to 바카라사이트 judiciary if his complaint was not addressed.

At a press conference, prior to 바카라사이트 protest, faculty said 바카라사이트y had great respect for Dr al-Tayyeb, but that Professor Abu Hashim should have been made acting president because of his seniority.

However, 바카라사이트 paper reported that sources from 바카라사이트 university said it was not true that Dr al-Tayyeb overlooked Professor Abu Hashim in appointing ano바카라사이트r acting president and that 바카라사이트 appointment is legal.
