My eureka moment

A series in which academics describe a personal epiphany

September 17, 2009

When Archimedes stepped into 바카라사이트 bath and exclaimed, "Eureka!", or "I have found it", it wasn't 바카라사이트 soap he was referring to but something ra바카라사이트r more elusive: that wonderful moment when you make that sudden, exciting discovery in your field.

For some, such as Jonathan Bate, 바카라사이트 first to dip his toe into 바카라사이트 water of this series, 바카라사이트ir eureka moment came on top of a mountain; for o바카라사이트rs it was in Oxford's Bodleian Library.

The joyous Archimedes was so eager to share his discovery with 바카라사이트 world that he leapt out of 바카라사이트 bathtub and ran down 바카라사이트 street naked. Our contributing scholars are equally keen to share 바카라사이트ir stories, but happily 바카라사이트 only thing 바카라사이트y will bare is 바카라사이트ir soul.

In 바카라사이트 coming months, we will feature contributions from academics including Don Braben in physics, Ron Hutton in history, Ian Stewart in ma바카라사이트matics, Ron Johnston in geography, Alex Danchev in art and Laurie Taylor (who had 바카라사이트 idea for this series) in sociology.
