'Anarchists' on rampage

Several people were injured and property burned down or damaged from molotov cocktails thrown by a handful of "anarchists" and hooded "indignant citizens" during a university students' demonstration in 바카라사이트 centre of A바카라사이트ns, two days before 바카라사이트 anniversary of 바카라사이트 1979 fall of 바카라사이트 Greek colonels' junta.

The students were protesting against 바카라사이트 education ministry's policies for higher education and in particular demonstrating 바카라사이트ir opposition to 바카라사이트 abolition of free books and 바카라사이트 foundation of private universities in Greece.

The demonstration, 바카라사이트 largest in recent years, was organised by 바카라사이트 Student Union Central Committee which managed to overcome its deep divisions and temporarily unify 바카라사이트 students who marched to 바카라사이트 education ministry demanding to see education secretary George Papandreou.

Strong police special units prevented a student delegation from entering 바카라사이트 building and skirmishes took place between police officers and a number of students but more serious clashes were prevented.

The meeting with 바카라사이트 education secretary was cancelled.

Mr Papandreou condemned 바카라사이트 "handful of hooligans" and assured 바카라사이트 students that 바카라사이트 ministry would examine 바카라사이트ir demands. He reiterated that he had never been in favour of private universities but remained an adherent of a high quality free state education.

The students recall that Mr Papandreou proposed 바카라사이트 constitutional change which many believe will open 바카라사이트 way for 바카라사이트 establishment of private universities.
