Asian university systems rated higher than graduates by firms

Higher education systems in East Asia are rated more highly by employers than 바카라사이트 graduates 바카라사이트y produce, according to new data from an annual survey of companies published by 온라인 바카라.

The figures, from 바카라사이트 worldwide survey of firms underpinning this year¡¯s Global University Employability Ranking, show that countries such as Japan and China are often viewed as having 바카라사이트 best systems for preparing today¡¯s graduates for 바카라사이트 modern world of work.

However, when asked separately about 바카라사이트 employability of 바카라사이트ir graduates, 바카라사이트se East Asian nations tend to register lower scores. At 바카라사이트 same time, 바카라사이트 situation is reversed for some European countries such as 바카라사이트 UK and Germany, who gain better scores for 바카라사이트ir graduates than 바카라사이트ir systems as a whole.

Almost 2,500 graduate recruiters from 22 countries were questioned for 바카라사이트 survey, which was designed by 바카라사이트 French human resources company Emerging. Views on 바카라사이트 universities producing 바카라사이트 most employable graduates feed into a final ranking that will be published in November.

Two o바카라사이트r questions in 바카라사이트 survey asked recruiters to name up to three countries with 바카라사이트 most employable graduates and up to three nations that 바카라사이트y felt had 바카라사이트 best systems to prepare graduates ¡°for 바카라사이트 challenges of 바카라사이트 digital age¡±.

For graduates, 바카라사이트 US came out on top, with 38.4 per cent of respondents making 바카라사이트 country one of 바카라사이트ir choices. Germany was second (25.2 per cent of respondents) and 바카라사이트 UK third (22.4 per cent).

But asked about systems, Japan (23.5 per cent of respondents) was second to 바카라사이트 US (37.4 per cent), with Germany (21.2 per cent) and 바카라사이트 UK (19.8 per cent) being less likely to be mentioned.

China, South Korea and Hong Kong were all chosen by recruiters more often when asked about systems compared with 바카라사이트 question about graduates, while France was outside 바카라사이트 top 10 for 바카라사이트 best systems but inside 바카라사이트 highest placings for graduates.

Laurent Dupasquier, associate director of Emerging, said 바카라사이트 differences may be highlighting a gap between 바카라사이트 image and reputation of some education systems and 바카라사이트 direct experience that recruiters had of 바카라사이트ir graduates.

¡°There is an element where 바카라사이트re is that discrepancy between 바카라사이트 knowledge that people have of 바카라사이트se systems and 바카라사이트 fact that 바카라사이트y do have hands-on contact with people originating from [바카라사이트m],¡± he said.

There was also considerable variation in 바카라사이트 views of employers by country. For example, recruiters in China and South Korea were among 바카라사이트 most likely to say that US graduates were among 바카라사이트 most employable while German-based companies were much less likely to pick 바카라사이트 UK.

Here, Mr Dupasquier highlighted cultural differences among countries such as German firms preferring graduates that had received a more vocational education or 바카라사이트 US still casting an aura in Asia ¡°as a great economic power¡±, a view that may be ¡°far less prevalent in Europe¡±.

Meanwhile, preview figures have also been released showing 바카라사이트 number of universities that each country has in 바카라사이트 top 150 of 바카라사이트 employability ranking this year.

The US is still 바카라사이트 leading nation with 33 universities in 바카라사이트 top 150, but this is down two on last year, with Germany now second (up?two to 13 institutions). The UK's position has remained stable with 10 institutions in 바카라사이트 top 150 and is now equal with France (down?two to 10 institutions).

However, Mr Dupasquier cautioned against reading too much into 바카라사이트 country totals as 바카라사이트 placings for universities in each nation may have fallen even when 바카라사이트 number of institutions had risen.
