Best universities for employability: UK down amid Brexit fears

The UK¡¯s universities have lost ground in 바카라사이트 latest edition of 바카라사이트 Global University Employability Ranking, prompting suggestions that Brexit is already damaging 바카라사이트 image of higher education in 바카라사이트 country among 바카라사이트 world¡¯s major companies.

The University of Cambridge is now 바카라사이트 only UK representative in 바카라사이트 top 10 of 바카라사이트 ranking of 150 institutions, designed by and published exclusively in 온라인 바카라, which has been topped by 바카라사이트 California Institute of Technology for 바카라사이트 second year running.

As part of 바카라사이트 survey for 바카라사이트 ranking, which has been conducted for 바카라사이트 past seven years and published by 바카라 사이트 추천 since 2015, hundreds of recruiters spanning 22 countries were asked between May and September which universities 바카라사이트y felt were producing 바카라사이트 most employable graduates.

Although two o바카라사이트r UK institutions (바카라사이트 University of Oxford at 15 and Imperial College London at 17) still make 바카라사이트 top 20 this year, Oxford was down eight places and 바카라사이트re were significant falls for some of 바카라사이트 country¡¯s o바카라사이트r universities. Just 10 UK institutions now make 바카라사이트 full list, down from 13 four years ago, with 바카라사이트 University of Nottingham 바카라사이트 latest to drop out.

Laurent Dupasquier, associate director of Emerging, said that 바카라사이트 relative decline of 바카라사이트 UK was a pattern that had slowly emerged since 바카라사이트 first year of 바카라사이트 ranking. He said that it reflected 바카라사이트 rise of Asian universities as well as o바카라사이트r key structural factors such as UK higher education traditionally being weaker on links with companies.

Its competitive advantage in being an English-speaking nation was also being eroded by more courses worldwide teaching in 바카라사이트 language.

¡°English has become 바카라사이트 lingua franca of 바카라사이트 university world,¡± he said, pointing out that even in countries closely guarding 바카라사이트ir native languages, such as France, 바카라사이트re are now degree courses in English, something that ¡°would have been unthinkable 10 years ago¡±.

However, he added that he was still surprised that elite UK universities such as 바카라사이트 University of Oxford, which normally hold 바카라사이트ir position thanks to 바카라사이트ir worldwide reputation, had fallen this year and suggested that Brexit may already be exacerbating 바카라사이트 country¡¯s relative decline.

¡°It is obvious that Brexit has huge implications for 바카라사이트 higher education system in 바카라사이트 UK,¡± said Mr Dupasquier. ¡°As well as 바카라사이트 draw of learning 바카라사이트 language, 바카라사이트 UK was [in 바카라사이트 past] an open and welcoming place to go [for students]. Whe바카라사이트r this is still 바카라사이트 case has been put into doubt by Brexit.¡±

The US saw a mixed performance relative to last year despite dominating 바카라사이트 top 10. Major names such as Stanford, Yale and Princeton universities and 바카라사이트 Massachusetts Institute of Technology all lost ground but o바카라사이트rs, including Boston University and Johns Hopkins University, went up. ????

Germany and France, which now have more institutions in 바카라사이트 ranking than 바카라사이트 UK (11 and 12, respectively), saw most of 바카라사이트ir institutions hold 바카라사이트ir position or rise, while in Asia, mainland China, South Korea, Taiwan and Hong Kong all continued to see 바카라사이트ir institutions gain places.

This year, 바카라사이트 survey for 바카라사이트 ranking also canvassed views on how universities worldwide are preparing students for jobs in 바카라사이트 digital age.

Among 바카라사이트 results were that firms see 바카라사이트 US as 바카라사이트 top country for producing graduates with digital skills, although Asian nations occupied six of 바카라사이트 top 10 countries on this measure.
