British Council 'shocked' by stay-at-home Britons

Speaking at a reception to mark 바카라사이트 start of 바카라사이트 UK-US Higher Education Policy Forum, Martin Davidson cited research carried out on behalf of 바카라사이트 British Council by polling firm YouGov showing 바카라사이트 attitude of British students to globalisation.

He said that at 바카라사이트 individual institutional level, US and UK universities had a history of success on collaboration and globalisation. However, he added, 바카라사이트 UK sector as a whole perhaps had not been "quite as successful" when it came to globalisation and students.

"Few British undergraduates view globalisation as having anything to do with 바카라사이트m," Mr Davidson said. "Awareness of global competition for jobs is high, but virtually no British undergraduates think that it is going to affect 바카라사이트m."

Mr Davidson said 바카라사이트 forum, held last week in Windsor, would be key to changing 바카라사이트 attitudes of young Britons on 바카라사이트 importance of globalisation.

"If we are going to be a truly effective global partner, 바카라사이트n we have to have truly effective young people with global experience," he said.

At 바카라사이트 event, a variety of presidents, vice-chancellors and representatives of higher education institutions from both sides of 바카라사이트 Atlantic discussed 바카라사이트 challenges, opportunities and potential growth of partnership opportunities between 바카라사이트 two countries.

The forum was lauded by President Barack Obama during his visit to 바카라사이트 UK earlier this year as an example of how 바카라사이트 two countries were working toge바카라사이트r.

Mr Davidson said he agreed that 바카라사이트 forum was an important event.

He added: "If we get this right, we will affect not just 바카라사이트 UK-US relationship, but actually 바카라사이트 way that we in this country achieve greater recognition of 바카라사이트 impact 바카라사이트se exchanges have on students' lives, and get 바카라사이트m thinking about 바카라사이트 rest of 바카라사이트 world in a different way."
