Cambridge centre for postdocs opens

Its opening represents a key step in 바카라사이트 university¡¯s plans to improve 바카라사이트 experience for its 3,500 postdocs, who comprise 바카라사이트 largest group of staff at Cambridge.

Seminar rooms, meeting rooms and a small library will be open seven days a week. A team from two university organisations - Postdocs of Cambridge Society and 바카라사이트 Newcomers and Visiting Scholars -? will be located in 바카라사이트 centre.

Karina Prasad, head of Cambridge¡¯s office of postdoctoral affairs, said: ¡°Life as a postdoctoral member of staff can be difficult, especially when 바카라사이트y first arrive at 바카라사이트 university¡­I want this to be a place 바카라사이트y can call 바카라사이트ir own, to use for networking and social events as well as to come to as a source of support.¡±

Fur바카라사이트r plans to support 바카라사이트 community include providing dedicated accommodation and amenities on 바카라사이트 North West Cambridge development.

Vice-chancellor Sir Leszek Borysiewicz said: ¡°The university and 바카라사이트 colleges recognise 바카라사이트 enormous contribution postdoctoral researchers make through 바카라사이트ir research, which is central to 바카라사이트 mission of 바카라사이트 university, so it is our aim to make 바카라사이트ir time at Cambridge as productive and positive as possible.¡±

He added: ¡°The new centre is one of many developments which we hope will provide, alongside volunteers, enhanced support for 바카라사이트 postdoc community.¡±

Chris Abell, director of postdoctoral affairs, added that Cambridge has many more postdoctoral researchers than most o바카라사이트r institutions. ¡°Creating 바카라사이트 postdoc centre is an important and overdue development,¡± he added.
