Cambridge college head quits over handling of sex complaints

Inquiry recommended disciplinary action against Jeremy Morris over handling of complaint against third party

The head of a University of Cambridge college has?resigned after an?independent inquiry recommended?that he?face disciplinary action over his?handling of a?sexual misconduct complaint against someone at 바카라사이트 college.

Trinity Hall said it had ¡°accepted 바카라사이트 resignation of 바카라사이트 master, Revd Canon Dr Jeremy Morris¡±, although it added that he disputed 바카라사이트 inquiry¡¯s recommendation.

The action?followed allegations ¡°made in an online news site in early 2020¡± related to claims of sexual misconduct at 바카라사이트 college, which?led to Trinity Hall commissioning 바카라사이트 inquiry into its handling of 바카라사이트 complaints.

In a statement, Trinity Hall said 바카라사이트 inquiry¡¯s report ¡°recommends that 바카라사이트 college consider initiating disciplinary action against 바카라사이트 master in relation to his handling of one allegation made against a third party.

¡°The governing body has determined that 바카라사이트re is a prima facie case for disciplinary action.

¡°The master disputes this recommendation, noting in particular 바카라사이트 inquiry¡¯s recognition that a number of contributors had praised his personal support for those who have raised issues of sexual abuse in specific situations.

¡°However, he considers that it is in 바카라사이트 best interests of 바카라사이트 college for him to offer his resignation, given 바카라사이트 difficulties of 바카라사이트 last 18?months, to?enable 바카라사이트 search for a new master to?begin.¡±

The statement thanked Dr Morris ¨C who stepped back from 바카라사이트 role last year while 바카라사이트 college looked into allegations on 바카라사이트 Tortoise Media website in February 2020 ¨C for his ¡°seven years of service to 바카라사이트 college as its master and for his nine years as dean of chapel, and wishes him well for 바카라사이트 future¡±.
