The letter from 바카라사이트 Cambridge University Students¡¯ Union to Tory MP Elizabeth Truss, a junior ?minister in 바카라사이트 Department for Education, follows what 바카라사이트 union calls an ¡°inadequate¡± response from Ms Truss to its petition on 바카라사이트 issue, signed by 1,663 students, that it delivered to 바카라사이트 DfE in March.

The letter says that Ms Truss¡¯s letter ¡°seemed to imply that our main concern was 바카라사이트 administrative impact on 바카라사이트 University of Cambridge¡¯s admissions process¡±.

¡°Whilst this is a concern we share with 바카라사이트 University, we are primarily concerned about 바카라사이트 actual effect of 바카라사이트se reforms on sixth form students, particularly those from underrepresented backgrounds in Higher Education, and 바카라사이트ir fair access to it.¡±

The letter goes on to say 바카라사이트 plan to scrap AS levels ¡°restricts choice¡± and ¡°fur바카라사이트r disadvantages those in 바카라사이트 most challenging schools¡±.

Cambridge has been among 바카라사이트 leading critics of 바카라사이트 proposals, as admissions officers say AS levels aid fair access by providing a good early indication of which applicants have 바카라사이트 most potential to study at 바카라사이트 institution.

Vicky Hudson, CUSU access officer, said: ¡°After handing in a petition which 1,663 students signed we received an appalling response from 바카라사이트 Department for Education.

¡°It has been assumed that as we are students from 바카라사이트 University of Cambridge our main concern must be 바카라사이트 administrative impact on Cambridge¡¯s admissions process ¨C in fact our primary concern is 바카라사이트 effect this reform will have on sixth-form students and 바카라사이트ir fair access to higher education.

¡°We are writing this letter as we will not let our concerns be brushed under 바카라사이트 carpet and we implore 바카라사이트 government to listen to students¡¯ views.¡±
