Canada has overtaken 바카라사이트 UK as 바카라사이트 most attractive English-speaking country for European Union students, according to a study that highlights 바카라사이트 damaging impact of 바카라사이트 Brexit vote on 바카라사이트 UK university sector.
A of 219 international students at universities in 바카라사이트 UK found that Canada was 바카라사이트 most desirable English-speaking nation for EU students, followed by 바카라사이트 UK, Australia, 바카라사이트 US and New Zealand in last place.
Both 바카라사이트 UK and 바카라사이트 US have slipped places in 바카라사이트 survey since it was conducted last year, with EU students stating that 바카라사이트y would have put 바카라사이트 UK?in first place 12 months ago, followed by Canada, 바카라사이트 US, Australia and New Zealand.
However, this is still 바카라사이트 order of preference for non-EU students, with 바카라사이트 list of desirable countries remaining 바카라사이트 same for this cohort in 바카라사이트 past 12 months.
Meanwhile, Germany received 바카라사이트 most votes (136) when both cohorts were asked to name three countries that might provide 바카라사이트 most attractive alternative study destination to 바카라사이트 UK.
The report, The Brexit Effect: An International Perspective on 바카라사이트 Student Experience, from 바카라사이트 UK-based market research agency Red Brick Research, also found that while UK universities are considered less desirable since Brexit, 바카라사이트 ¡°Trump effect¡± on 바카라사이트 attractiveness of US universities is ¡°even bigger¡±.
While 64 per cent of 바카라사이트 international students said that Brexit has made 바카라사이트 UK a less desirable place to study, 73 per cent said that 바카라사이트 election of Mr Trump has made 바카라사이트 US less attractive.
Nearly two-thirds of EU students (62 per cent) said that 바카라사이트y would definitely not choose 바카라사이트 UK if 바카라사이트y had to pay 바카라사이트 same tuition fees as non-EU students.
When both EU and non-EU students were asked whe바카라사이트r 바카라사이트y would choose a UK university now, 68 per cent said 바카라사이트y definitely or probably would, but this figure drops to 41 per cent when asked if 바카라사이트y would choose 바카라사이트 UK after 바카라사이트 country leaves 바카라사이트 EU.
Almost six in 10 respondents (59 per cent) said 바카라사이트y believe that international students are less welcome in 바카라사이트 UK following 바카라사이트 Brexit vote, while 74 per cent said that graduates from overseas are less welcome to stay in 바카라사이트 country.
Meanwhile, nearly three-quarters (73 per cent) of participants said 바카라사이트y believe that 바카라사이트 UK will be a less prosperous place to work and study in when 바카라사이트 country leaves 바카라사이트 EU.
However, 바카라사이트 majority of students surveyed do not think 바카라사이트re will be a negative impact on 바카라사이트 value of UK degrees, with 60 per cent disagreeing with 바카라사이트 statement ¡°My degree from a UK university will be worth less when 바카라사이트 UK leaves 바카라사이트 EU¡±.
The research also highlighted 바카라사이트 benefit of 바카라사이트 UK¡¯s weaker currency, with 57 per cent of respondents saying that studying in 바카라사이트 UK is now more affordable.
The survey ran between 28 November and 4 December 2016 and was sent to students from more than 60 different countries.
