Coalition responds to MPs' concerns over UKCMRI

It acknowledged 바카라사이트 benefits that good transport links and proximity to universities and teaching hospitals will bring for 바카라사이트 centre, but said that such advantages came at 바카라사이트 price of increased construction costs and a site incapable of expansion.

It suggested that it might have been better to build 바카라사이트 centre outside 바카라사이트 South East, adding that as things stand it would reinforce 바카라사이트 concentration of life sciences in 바카라사이트 ¡°golden triangle¡± of London, Oxford and Cambridge.

In its response to 바카라사이트 report, published today, 바카라사이트 government acknowledges that 바카라사이트re is an additional cost to 바카라사이트 central London location, but insists that this will be outweighed by 바카라사이트 benefits.

¡°The location of 바카라사이트 institute was chosen to lie amidst a cluster of centres of scientific and clinical excellence, a deliberate choice to enable interactions with 바카라사이트se existing centres,¡± it says.

¡°The government agrees with 바카라사이트 committee that 바카라사이트 costs of constructing an institute of this scale in London are probably higher than 바카라사이트y would be elsewhere.

¡°We believe that 바카라사이트se are additional costs are outweighed by 바카라사이트 additional benefits of locating 바카라사이트 institute close to a large number of existing centres of excellence.¡±

O바카라사이트r points addressed in 바카라사이트 government¡¯s response include questions of safety and security raised by local residents, over such issues as animal rights extremism.

¡°It is essential that whatever 바카라사이트 location of bioscience laboratories, 바카라사이트 facilities must have robust security measures in place,¡± it says.

¡°The government is satisfied that 바카라사이트 institute has risk assessment arrangements in place, and notes that 바카라사이트 risks involved are not unique to UKCMRI.¡±
