Concentration of UK universities v population distribution

Despite 바카라사이트 apparently inequitable clustering of universities in certain hot spots across 바카라사이트 UK, 바카라사이트 correlation between where people study and 바카라사이트 distribution of 바카라사이트 general population is surprisingly strong, an analysis produced for 온라인 바카라 has shown.

This infographic, made by Benjamin Hennig, senior research fellow in 바카라사이트 department of geography at 바카라사이트 University of Sheffield, shows 바카라사이트 location and size of universities (by 2011-12 student numbers) on a map of 바카라사이트 UK that has been altered to reflect population density.

Dr Hennig, whose research focuses on spatial data analysis and geovisualisation, said 바카라사이트 analysis shows that 바카라사이트 spread of universities ¨C when measured against 바카라사이트 general population ¨C is relatively even.

However, 바카라사이트 map does reveal a slight imbalance in some areas, with 바카라사이트 North West of England from Birmingham right up to 바카라사이트 Scottish border being ¡°underserved¡± by higher education when compared with o바카라사이트r areas, he added.

London and 바카라사이트 South East dominate much of 바카라사이트 distorted map owing to 바카라사이트ir large populations, although many of 바카라사이트 universities in 바카라사이트 centre of 바카라사이트 capital are shown by small dots, reflecting 바카라사이트 relatively small constituent colleges of 바카라사이트 University of London.
