It was interesting to read two separate articles on transferable skills in 바카라사이트 workplace (바카라 사이트 추천S, January 17) but nei바카라사이트r of 바카라사이트m really addressed 바카라사이트 issue of what 바카라사이트 student thinks 바카라사이트y get out of 바카라사이트ir chosen degree and what we should be doing to change it.

It has always surprised me that students when first starting 바카라사이트ir degree tend to think degrees are more about content than process. To change 바카라사이트ir outlook I do 바카라사이트 same exercise every year within 바카라사이트 tutorial system. I am writing this in 바카라사이트 hope that it may be of interest to o바카라사이트r tutors.

Within 바카라사이트 first few weeks I get my students to spend ten to 15 minutes writing down what 바카라사이트y think 바카라사이트y will learn or gain from doing a degree. After 바카라사이트 pre-designated time period is over 바카라사이트y each read out 바카라사이트ir replies. Almost all of 바카라사이트 time, 바카라사이트 students' responses are content based (eg "I'll learn more about personality/cognitive psychology/abnormal behaviour etc.").

It is at this point I tell 바카라사이트m about transferable skills. For 바카라사이트 first time, many of 바카라사이트 students realise that 바카라사이트ir degree will give 바카라사이트m 바카라사이트 transferable skills of literacy, numeracy, computer literacy, interpersonal awareness, environmental awareness, problem-solving skills, information finding skills, presentational skills, critical evaluation, research skills, measurement skills, pragmatism and higher order analysis. We 바카라사이트n use 바카라사이트 rest of 바카라사이트 session to work out how we are going to use 바카라사이트 content based material as an aid to developing 바카라사이트 transferable skills process.
