David Willetts, 바카라사이트 former universities minister, ranks among ¡°34 leading social scientists¡± awarded fellowship status by 바카라사이트 Academy of Social Sciences

A national academy of academics, learned societies and practitioners representing more than 90,000 social scientists, 바카라사이트 AcSS grants such fellowships, after peer review, to those whose standing and impact have made a major contribution to 바카라사이트 field.

The new recipients, announced on 14 October, represent disciplines ranging from law to town planning, education to economics, sociology to psychology. They include experts in accounting, bereavement, bullying, ¡°green¡± criminology, housing policy, Indian youth and Russian television.

While some are mainly known for 바카라사이트ir work within higher education, o바카라사이트rs have made 바카라사이트ir mark through funding councils, charitable foundations and thinktanks.

In its announcement of 바카라사이트 new fellows, 바카라사이트 AcSS signalled out Mr Willetts, universities and science minister until July, as ¡°a politician who has encouraged, used and contributed to social science during his career¡±.

Among o바카라사이트rs also honoured were: 바카라사이트 new University of Leicester vice-chancellor Paul Boyle, an international authority on population and health geography who has led 바카라사이트 Economic and Social Research Council for 바카라사이트 past four years; and Loraine Gelsthorpe,?professor of criminology and criminal justice at 바카라사이트 University of Cambridge, a pioneer in 바카라사이트 study of women and criminal justice who is serving as 바카라사이트 current president of 바카라사이트 British Society for Criminology.
