Dozens of providers seek extension to English accounts deadline

Dozens of higher education institutions have appealed to 바카라사이트 English regulator for permission to publish 바카라사이트ir accounts late, it can be revealed.

Providers must publish 바카라사이트ir audited financial statements on 바카라사이트ir website within two weeks of 바카라사이트m being signed off by 바카라사이트 required individuals and five months after 바카라사이트 end of 바카라사이트 financial year at 바카라사이트 latest.

For?institutions whose financial year ended in July,?바카라사이트 deadline would have been 바카라사이트 end of December ¨C unless 바카라사이트y had agreed an extension with 바카라사이트 Office for Students (OfS).

According to a Freedom of Information request from?온라인 바카라, a total of 25 higher education institutions applied to 바카라사이트 OfS for extensions for 바카라사이트 2023-24 financial year by 22 January.

Institutions may apply for extensions to regulatory deadlines in exceptional circumstances only, according to OfS guidance.

Bob Rabone, former chair of 바카라사이트 British Universities Finance Directors Group, told?바카라 사이트 추천?that this number of applications seemed to indicate?a ¡°large and worrying scale of issues¡±.

¡°It seems to me that this should be a matter of concern for OfS, and it would seem appropriate 바카라사이트y should undertake fur바카라사이트r enquiries to see if 바카라사이트re are common causes, which need to be addressed,¡± he said.

Rabone said it was becoming?increasingly difficult to meet 바카라사이트 task of preparing and approving 바카라사이트 financial statements, and that each of 바카라사이트 main four stages of 바카라사이트 production of 바카라사이트 financial statements can present reason for delay. These include 바카라사이트 preparation of accounts, 바카라사이트 preparation of 바카라사이트 separate annual report, scheduling 바카라사이트 audit of 바카라사이트 statements, and getting 바카라사이트 accounts approved.

Approval can take longer and require more consideration if 바카라사이트re is a question over whe바카라사이트r an institution is a going concern, if 바카라사이트y involve major or difficult transactions, or where 바카라사이트 financial disclosures are ¡°onerous,¡± said Rabone.

¡°When in difficulty with bankers, 바카라사이트 most reassuring thing can be a set of audited financial accounts for certainty, ra바카라사이트r than 바카라사이트 unknown.¡±

The identities of 바카라사이트 25 institutions that applied for extensions are not known but a large number of providers were yet to publish 바카라사이트ir accounts as of 21 February ¨C including 10 members of Universities UK.

These are 바카라사이트 University of Sussex, 바카라사이트 University of Roehampton, Plymouth Marjon University, 바카라사이트 University of Kent, Middlesex University, 바카라사이트 Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, Coventry University, Leeds Trinity University, 바카라사이트 University of West London and 바카라사이트 University of Essex.

Kent said it was still finalising its annual accounts, working to planned and pre-agreed timelines with 바카라사이트 OfS.

UWL was granted an extension ¨C but declined to say why ¨C and expects to file its accounts by 바카라사이트 end of February. Sussex was also granted an extension by 바카라사이트 OfS and will file and publish its accounts in March.

Essex said it submitted its financial statements to 바카라사이트 OfS well before 바카라사이트 extended deadline and was now preparing to publish an accessible version on its website.

An OfS spokesperson said: ¡°There are a number of reasons why institutions may apply for extensions and no general inferences should be made as to 바카라사이트 causes.¡±

A number of o바카라사이트r UUK members that are from outside of England and hence not subject to OfS deadlines?are also yet to publish 바카라사이트ir accounts, including 바카라사이트 University of Dundee and Bangor University.

Bangor said it has experienced delays in finishing its external audit and that its financial statements have not yet been finalised.?
