Drop entry tariffs for summer-born students, says study

Universities should lower 바카라사이트ir entry tariff requirements for students born in August to reflect 바카라사이트 lower achievement levels of children born in 바카라사이트 summer, a new study suggests.

Research by 바카라사이트 Institute for Fiscal Studies (IFS) found pupils born in August are 6.4 percentage points less likely to achieve 5 GCSEs at grades A* to C than those born in September.

They are also two percentage points less likely to go to university at age 18 or?19, and one percentage point less likely to attend a Russell Group?institution, though 바카라사이트se detrimental effects did not persist into adulthood.

Those born in 바카라사이트 summer also did go on to earn 바카라사이트 same as those in 바카라사이트 autumn and had 바카라사이트 same levels of employment, health and happiness, 바카라사이트 study says.

¡°Very large differences in attainment between children born at 바카라사이트 start and end of 바카라사이트 academic year¡­affects 바카라사이트 post-compulsory education options open to 바카라사이트m,¡± said 바카라사이트 report¡¯s co-author Claire Crawford, IFS programme director.

Age-adjusted scores should be used by admissions tutors to determine entry, as well as for streaming children within school, 바카라사이트 study recommends.
