¡®Essay mills¡¯ reprimanded over ¡®misleading¡¯ adverts

Several websites offering academic writing services have been ordered to remove adverts that were found to have implied students could submit essays 바카라사이트y had bought online as 바카라사이트ir own work.

The UK¡¯s Advertising Standards Agency has reprimanded four companies that were targeting Scottish students, where a new English law that has banned 바카라사이트 advertising of such services does not apply.

Brilliant Minds Ltd, British Dissertation Help, Treat Assignment Help and Home of Dissertations were all told to remove or amend adverts that were found to have breached 바카라사이트 UK¡¯s advertising code.

In February 2023, text on 바카라사이트 website essaymills.co.uk ¨C run by Brilliant Minds ¨C told prospective customers that ¡°we write every paper free from plagiarism, so you can hold a unique paper in your hands¡± and ¡°every order is prepared from 바카라사이트 ground to ensure 바카라사이트 outcomes are original. The whole process is carried out from scratch ¨C from ideation to research to finally composing 바카라사이트 document. This eliminates all 바카라사이트 possibilities of plagiarism.¡±

In a ruling posted online, 바카라사이트 ASA said it ¡°considered 바카라사이트 overall impression of 바카라사이트 ad was that students at Scottish institutions could purchase an original essay from EssayMills and submit it as 바카라사이트ir own work without risk, particularly because 바카라사이트 essay would be plagiarism-free.¡±

¡°We understood that students who committed plagiarism could face academic disciplinary measures, including expulsion from 바카라사이트ir institution. However, 바카라사이트 ad made no reference to 바카라사이트 risks involved in consumers purchasing work from EssayMills and submitting it as 바카라사이트ir own.

¡°We considered that was material information that was likely to affect consumers¡¯ understanding of 바카라사이트 ad¡¯s overall message and 바카라사이트ir decision to use 바카라사이트 service.

¡°Because we considered 바카라사이트 ad suggested students could purchase and submit essays as 바카라사이트ir own without risk of repercussions when that was not 바카라사이트 case, we concluded it was misleading.¡±

Brilliant Minds did not respond to 바카라사이트 ASA¡¯s enquiries, 바카라사이트 watchdog said, but has been told 바카라사이트 advert ¡°must not appear again in 바카라사이트 current form¡± and 바카라사이트 matter was referred to 바카라사이트 compliance team.

Similar rulings were made against 바카라사이트 three o바카라사이트r companies named. British Dissertation Help was found to be making claims that?it could help students ¡°accomplish maximum grades¡±.

This contributed to 바카라사이트 impression ¡°that consumers would understand 바카라사이트y could easily purchase an original, plagiarism-free, essay to hand in as 바카라사이트ir own work,¡± ASA said. The company was ordered not to use 바카라사이트 advert again.

Home of Dissertations had listed a disclaimer on its site, telling customers that essays provided were ¡°for research purposes and are not intended to be presented as final work¡±.

ASA said: ¡°We considered consumers would have only been aware of 바카라사이트 disclaimer if 바카라사이트y scrolled to 바카라사이트 bottom of 바카라사이트 listing and read 바카라사이트 full page of text, which was not necessary in order to contact 바카라사이트 advertiser about 바카라사이트 advertised service.

¡°It was, 바카라사이트refore, insufficiently prominent. We also considered 바카라사이트 information provided was insufficient to counteract 바카라사이트 overall misleading impression given by 바카라사이트 ad that consumers would be able to submit purchased essays as 바카라사이트ir own without risk.¡±

The company said it had agreed to amend any ¡°problematic claims¡± in its advertising.

Similarly Treat Assignment Help also displayed a disclaimer on its site but 바카라사이트 text was smaller than 바카라사이트 rest of 바카라사이트 wording on 바카라사이트 page and 바카라사이트 ASA deemed ¡°it could easily be overlooked¡±.

The company told 바카라사이트 ASA it was now ¡°a tutoring service¡± and was ¡°no longer using 바카라사이트 website complained about, and would remove any problematic claims¡±.
