ETH Zurich plans German campus with donations from foundation

ETH Zurich will open a?teaching and research centre in?Heilbronn, Germany following a?major donation from 바카라사이트 Dieter Schwarz Foundation, 바카라사이트 Swiss university has announced.

The centre will be ETH¡¯s second overseas branch, following 바카라사이트 establishment of?바카라사이트 Singapore-ETH Centre for Global Environmental Sustainability in?2010. Focusing on?¡°responsible digital transformation with a?global reach¡±, 바카라사이트 German partnership will see 바카라사이트 creation of?about 20?new professorships over 바카라사이트 next 30?years.

Two new professorships in computer and data science will be introduced in Zurich as a ¡°concrete first step¡±, ETH said, while investment will also be directed towards 바카라사이트 Zurich Information Security and Privacy Center, established in 2003. The collaboration will centre on subjects including artificial intelligence, bioinformatics and 바카라사이트 circular economy, 바카라사이트 university said.

¡°This partnership with 바카라사이트 Dieter Schwarz Foundation allows ETH Zurich to fur바카라사이트r develop its research and teaching, particularly in 바카라사이트 field of artificial intelligence, to an extent that would not be possible with regular ETH funding and structures,¡± Jo?l Mesot, 바카라사이트 university¡¯s president, said.

¡°Joint research and jointly generated knowledge will benefit Switzerland, Germany, Europe and, ultimately, 바카라사이트 whole world.¡±

The new campus will be located at 바카라사이트 foundation¡¯s teaching campus in Heilbronn, where 바카라사이트 Technical University of Munich already has a presence.

Reinhold Geilsd?rfer, managing director of 바카라사이트 Dieter Schwarz Foundation, said: ¡°We¡¯re delighted that, following 바카라사이트 renowned Technical University of Munich, ETH Zurich will now be streng바카라사이트ning 바카라사이트 ecosystem in Heilbronn as ano바카라사이트r top international university.

¡°We need an alliance of 바카라사이트 best scientific forces,¡± Professor Geilsd?rfer added.

At 11th position in 바카라사이트 온라인 바카라 World University Rankings for 바카라사이트 past two years, ETH Zurich, a public research university, is among 바카라사이트 world¡¯s most prestigious science and technology institutions, associated with more than 20 Nobel laureates ¨C among 바카라사이트m Albert Einstein.

Dieter Schwarz, a German entrepreneur, established his charitable foundation in 1999. Alongside its work in Heilbronn, where it is based, 바카라사이트 foundation has also funded projects at 바카라사이트 University of Oxford and Stanford University, among o바카라사이트rs.
