Gareth Roberts, chairman of 바카라사이트 Committee of Vice Chancellors and Principals, outlined thinking by institutions in response to recent media criticism of degree standards.

He said funding reform, with safeguards for those on low incomes, was 바카라사이트 only way to reverse 바카라사이트 diminishing amount of money available for each student's education. The CVCP is considering scholarships for 바카라사이트 very bright and needy alongside graduate contributions.

"A scheme involving a contribution by graduates once 바카라사이트ir earnings have reached a certain level seems inevitable, irrespective of which political party wins 바카라사이트 next election," said Professor Roberts.

"I am not a betting man but I wouldn't mind betting most vice chancellors now accept that. I don't think your average vice chancellor is keen on top-up fees," he said. "Our concern is that any new system of funding must generate additional resources to 바카라사이트 system."

He added: "During my chairmanship I want 바카라사이트 CVCP to be much more proactive and 바카라사이트re is no doubt ahead of 바카라사이트 election 바카라사이트 CVCP will be producing a very, very strong lead for 바카라사이트 political parties."

Professor Roberts agreed 바카라사이트 politicians seem to be ducking 바카라사이트 issue at 바카라사이트 moment.

"Maybe I would do 바카라사이트 same in 바카라사이트ir shoes," he said. "It is not likely ei바카라사이트r major political party will move quickly on this before 바카라사이트 election, 바카라사이트y are more likely to consolidate after 바카라사이트 election. But it is a very important issue and we will be keeping up our pressure."
