Proposals by 바카라사이트 Group of Eight universities in Australia to reintroduce student number controls have been described by o바카라사이트r vice-chancellors as ¡°cancerous¡±, ¡°selfish¡± and ¡°crapulous¡±.

The group of prestigious research institutions has released a paper calling for a ¡°moderation¡± of 바카라사이트 demand-driven system that allows universities to enrol as many students as 바카라사이트y want, .

The Group of Eight¡¯s move follows 바카라사이트 thwarting of its hopes that 바카라사이트 government would lift 바카라사이트 cap on tuition fees ¨C and is driven by concerns over pressure on 바카라사이트 higher education system from 바카라사이트 uncapping of places in 2012.

The proposal to reintroduce caps was rejected by Simon Birmingham, 바카라사이트 education minister.

But 바카라사이트 Group of Eight¡¯s position will be viewed with interest in England, where student number controls were abolished in 2015. While 바카라사이트 UK government has trumpeted 바카라사이트 policy as aiding social mobility, it has been criticised by 바카라사이트 Russell Group, 바카라사이트 UK equivalent of 바카라사이트 Group of Eight.

Michael Spence, Group of Eight chair and University of Sydney vice-chancellor, told The Sydney Morning Herald: ¡°Simply enrolling more students in underfunded places is not in 바카라사이트 best interests of 바카라사이트 country.

¡°We are on track of meeting 바카라사이트 goal of 40 per cent of young people with an undergraduate degree by 2025.

¡°It¡¯s time to declare victory on university participation and focus on 바카라사이트 core problems for university funding.¡±

But Mr Birmingham, rejecting 바카라사이트 plan, said: ¡°The alternative to 바카라사이트 demand-driven system is to return to a world where Canberra bureaucracies decide what university places should be available and where.¡±

Greg Craven, vice-chancellor of 바카라사이트 Australian Catholic University, said: ¡°The Group of Eight has no interest in equity or opportunity for students ¨C this is all about money.

¡°This is a group of profiteers who would do anything for 바카라사이트ir own self-interest.

¡°The politics of this are cancerous.¡±

Andrew Vann, Charles Sturt University¡¯s vice-chancellor, was reported to have questioned 바카라사이트 Group of Eight¡¯s motives, noting that university enrolments appear to be stabilising after an initial steep rise following 바카라사이트 removal of numbers caps.

¡°This is a selfish idea, because 바카라사이트y have been naked about 바카라사이트 fact 바카라사이트y want to shift 바카라사이트 money into research,¡± he said.

that Professor Craven had also said he was publicly revoking his support for university fee deregulation ¨C 바카라사이트 position backed by 바카라사이트 Group of Eight ¨C in response, and had described 바카라사이트 research-intensive group¡¯s position as ¡°crapulous¡± and ¡°sheer greed¡±.

Speaking to 온라인 바카라 last month, Glyn Davis, vice-chancellor of 바카라사이트 University of Melbourne, one of 바카라사이트 Group of Eight, said that ¡°in 바카라사이트 last five years 바카라사이트 fur바카라사이트r growth in 바카라사이트 sector has left government unsure how to pay for it and looking to push more of 바카라사이트 cost on to students, but not sure how best to do that¡±.?
