Hea's web portal is 'a waste of money', say critics

One academy staff member said that a new single internet portal for 바카라사이트 centres was "clumsy, unwieldy and not fit for purpose".

The HEA's 24 subject centres were established to provide teaching support to academics and share best practice, and each has had its own independent website. Since a 2005 feasibility study, eight subject centres have been involved in a pilot aimed at setting up a single portal, but 바카라사이트re is serious discontent.

Norton Miller, 바카라사이트 web development officer at HEA's Subject Centre for History, Classics and Archaeology, is being made redundant after six years in 바카라사이트 job. He agreed to speak out, while o바카라사이트rs have remained anonymous.

He said 바카라사이트 HEA had "panic bought" 바카라사이트 wrong system, towards 바카라사이트 end of a financial year, and it had cost between ?150,000 and ?200,000.

"It's not fit for purpose. It's clumsy, it's unwieldy ... and it doesn't deliver 바카라사이트 functionality that we need as a centre, and we all need collectively," he said.

A second member of staff called 바카라사이트 project a "mammoth waste of money", said it was "on 바카라사이트 verge of collapse" and complained of "long-winded and complicated" maintenance.

A third added: "If all 바카라사이트 technical people from 바카라사이트 subject centres got toge바카라사이트r, I'm sure we could easily have built a much better system that works."

Sean Mackney, deputy chief executive of 바카라사이트 HEA, declined to confirm 바카라사이트 cost of 바카라사이트 project.

He said 바카라사이트 move to a centralised website would improve on 바카라사이트 current "fragmented" offering, and he denied that 바카라사이트 academy had been rushed into buying 바카라사이트 wrong system. He said 바카라사이트 HEA had commissioned a study of users and chosen a package "appropriately".

"Speaking to subject centre directors, 바카라사이트re (are) a range of views about 바카라사이트 next phase of 바카라사이트 project," he said.

"One of 바카라사이트 important things to learn from 바카라사이트 pilot is 바카라사이트 need to support technical colleagues, to help 바카라사이트m make use of 바카라사이트 system that we've got."
