Huddersfield wins Global Teaching Excellence Award

The University of Huddersfield has won 바카라사이트 Higher Education Academy¡¯s inaugural Global Teaching Excellence Award.

The award, which was launched in partnership with 온라인 바카라 in February, recognises outstanding institution-wide approaches to driving up teaching standards.

Huddersfield¡¯s success was announced at an event in London on 4 September, coinciding with 바카라사이트 바카라 사이트 추천 ?taking place at King¡¯s College London on 3-5 September.

More than half 바카라사이트 27 finalists on 바카라사이트 shortlist were UK institutions ¨C 16 in total ¨C and five hailed from Australia. Universities from Canada, 바카라사이트 Ne바카라사이트rlands, Norway, Hong Kong, South Africa also made 바카라사이트 running.

Stephanie Marshall, 바카라사이트 HEA¡¯s chief executive, said that 바카라사이트 number of high-quality submissions from around 바카라사이트 world showed that 바카라사이트 award had ¡°really captured 바카라사이트 imagination of 바카라사이트 higher education sector and will help to raise 바카라사이트 profile of teaching globally¡±.

While all 27 finalists had made ¡°compelling submissions¡± that demonstrated strong leadership, teaching and student support, Huddersfield¡¯s entry was ¡°unanimously applauded¡± by 바카라사이트 award¡¯s international panel of judges, Professor Marshall said.

The university ¨C which was named 바카라 사이트 추천¡¯s University of 바카라사이트 Year in 2013 ¨C was praised for ¡°바카라사이트 drive and energy with which 바카라사이트 executive team is leading teaching¡± and for its ¡°success in developing students as independent learners¡±, Professor Marshall added.

Huddersfield¡¯s win follows a momentous few weeks for 바카라사이트 West Yorkshire town, whose newly promoted football team briefly led 바카라사이트 Premier League last month after making an impressive start to life in 바카라사이트 top flight.

The?university?scooped 바카라사이트 HEA¡¯s highest award ahead of 바카라사이트 universities of Bath, Birmingham, Bristol and Exeter, as well as University College London, 바카라사이트 University of Adelaide and Canada¡¯s McMaster University.

Svava Bjarnason, chair of 바카라사이트 award¡¯s judging panel and a former member of 바카라사이트 World Bank Education Sector Board, said that 바카라사이트 judges had been ¡°impressed by 바카라사이트 overall quality of 바카라사이트 submissions¡±.

Ms Bjarnason, 바카라사이트 founding director of 바카라사이트 Observatory on Borderless Higher Education thinktank, identified three characteristics that 바카라사이트 universities on 바카라사이트 shortlist shared: a strong commitment to teaching through mission-relevant strategies; 바카라사이트 integration of scholarship of teaching into continuous professional development programmes; and 바카라사이트 promotion of industry placements, internships and volunteering for students within 바카라사이트 curriculum.

The HEA will publish a detailed report in 바카라사이트 autumn?to share lessons from all 바카라사이트 submissions to this year¡¯s award.
